The Basil Restaurant

I’m giving the food here 4 stars because it was quite tasty after finally finding something I could eat as a vegan. There are two menus: the normal one and one that displayed whether or not it was vegan, vegetarian or gluten free but you have to ask for it! After waiting too long to be seated because the host couldn’t see us (and the other couple at the front), then waiting for water, the server to greet us, menus, and silverware... the flavors were off the hook. I do have to agree with some other reviews I read about the vegetables being humongous but that’s what knives are for. Overall, our plan to order apps as soon as the server showed up was key otherwise I would not have made it to dinner actually setting down on the table.

This is by far the best Thai food I have ever had (anyone else I take here says the same thing). The service is top notch and the atmosphere very relaxing. Excellent

Good Thai, the yellow curry and mango spring rolls were not brimming with flavor, as compared to several other Thai restaurants I've been to but it was still good. When my food was served it wasn't hot, it was warm and some of the potato's were cold in the center. I would go back again to try their other curry dishes though.

We visit Carson City from Ireland at least four times a year. We look forward always to visiting the Basil Restaurant in Carson City. It is excellent. It is consistently good which is the mark of a really good venue. We have so many favorites it is impossible to mention. The service is just as good as the food. Should you visit Carson City please do not miss the opportunity to sample Thai Food & Service that you will always remember with joy. Tony & Margaret

Great food, super nice people and they are aware of allergies or people who eat various diets. They ask questions when you order to verify that you are getting not only what you want but something that won't end up making you I'll die to various reasons
