Great stay! Very cozy rooms. Comfortable beds. Good bathrooms with nice shower pressure. Awesome staff, very friendly and nice and accommodating. Old school vibe was nice but didn't feel like it needed more modernizing. It was comfortable. Breakfast in the morning had a lot too offer. Much more than a holiday inn or something. They really tried hard to make you feel at home. Will stay again.
this hotel is a beautiful little gem in the city! very comfy atmosphere and wonderful staff. the breakfast foods were all delicious, and the beds were very warm and soft, perfect for the much-needed sleep i needed after a long day of travel. would stay here again!Rooms: 4/5
Loving our stay at the Bertram Inn... It's very cozy and feels like coming home instead of coming back to a hotel. The room and hotel are very clean and everything is organized and neat. Snacks and drinks offered 24/7 is very nice. The service from the innkeepers has been great. Very personable, nice, and will take care of anything you might need. The location is very close to train access and numerous parks, and within walking distance to many other things. Overall it's a much better experience than a hotel with 200+ rooms and is also cheaper. If we return to this area, would love to stay again!!!
A bed and breakfast that sets the standard for other B&Bs. Lovely inn! Great service! Accommodated our dog! The breakfast is delicious! The pastries are outstanding! I saved one for the drive home. The baker has amazing talent!
Historial Place, enjoyed there. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. Room are indeed old as well as furniture but quite clean. Had hard time to adjust the warm water nob in the washroom, and need to call house keeper before taking shower.
Can't wait for my next trip back to Boston and stay at The Bertram Inn. Such a Lovely, Lovely place. All the staff there are incredible. Breakfast out on the sun deck & then wine out there in the evening, to die for! Can't ever get enough of this place!
Staff was always eager to ensure that we were comfortable and content. Check-in time runs until 10PM, great for the late-night travelers, and we were openly welcomed at 9:40PM. Innkeepers switch out every night understandably, since having the same person checking in people until 10PM is frankly unreasonable, but every innkeeper we meet was warm, welcoming, and accommodating. The inn itself is beautiful, well-kept, and very quaint. Breakfast shifts between sweet and savory morning to morning. Everyday, breakfast included a great fruit-salad included various melons, blue- and raspberries, kiwi, etc, unique pastries, freshly prepared breads, complimentary copies of the NYTimes as well as the Boston Globe, and a warm fire in the colder months perfect, considering we visited in January. The check-in area included innumerable brochures, flyers, and maps to help acquaint the unfamiliar with Boston and the array of happenings near and far. Coffee, tea, fruit, snacks, and light desert items were available 24/7. Innkeepers consistently checked to ensure that these were well-stocked and fresh. I had reserved a queen-sized bed for two, though we were preemptively upgraded because innkeeper cautioned that the original room I reserved would have been too drafty in January. I should say that this is probably not a common occurrence, but I greatly appreciate their concern for our comfort. Our "upgraded" room was most certainly such, and included a beautiful private bathroom, shower-room, and two closets. It also included a wall of vintage literature, and a prepared fireplace. All we needed to do was light a match and turn down the lights. Honestly, the only downfall was that we had visited in the winter. They have a outside breakfasting area and garden area, and we have every intention on returning when the trees start to bud. While my girlfriend and I are in our early 20s, it is safe to say that this establishment is perfect for any solo traveler or couple, young and old. If anyone asks me were to stay in Boston, this is my first recommendation.
My husband and I stayed at both the Bertram and the Samuel Sewall, and had great experiences both times. We were pampered both occasions. The staff was very pleasant, and the food was excellent. The ambiance for the antique lover is a must, with all the modern amenities.
This was my third experience with the Bertram Inn. The first two were lovely. This one was a bit more of a necessity than a luxury. It was during the 2015 Blizzard lets hope its the only Blizzard in 2015 and I had to cover during the storm at a hospital down the street. I was able to stay in the same room #8 that I had experienced before. Ginormous luxurious bed, comfy leather chairs, bathroom is just fine. And Dia made sure that I could stay in the same room throughout my snow emergency by juggling some bookings I think there were cancellations as well due to storm. The night of the blizzard, they provided a small, interesting yet thoughtful option for dinner - as most area restaurants were closed, and travel was banned for non-essential vehicles. While at first I thought I wouldn't want the space heater available for the room when Dia offered to set it up, I decided to get it out later that evening. I'd turn it off before sleep... But it would be on and warming the room for me when I'd make it back from work the next evening. I grew up in a 150 yr old house in New England - I'm used to drafts and cold... but this little machine worked well to make the room very cozy While it would be nice to have had a hospital discount available.. I did get a midweek winter discount, and ended up staying 2 extra nights just because I was enjoying the inn, my parking space at home wasn't yet plowed, and my mom spoils me. This is a different kind of B&B - one can be social, or not. The innkeepers I've experienced are very responsive, but unobtrusive The food I've had there was yummy, and the Keurigs available 24/7 are a nice feature. They, and the fridges, are not in room, but not difficult to access. Its very comfortable. I have seen no mice, and no cats. I think someone may have let their dog run loose for a few minutes, but that resolved itself soon. My S.O. loves this place and claims it as his own. We'll definitely be back.
Brilliant location for those that want proximity to the Jewish community. I thought it was quite a dated property. My room was not really suitable for a business traveller. Staff were friendly.
