Definitely I'll give a 5 star. The service was very fast. The food was amazing, best place to eat sea food. The clams, oysters and mussels were amaaaazing. We had almost all the cocktails and they were great as well.
The clam chowder is amazing. High traffic on the weekends, during the off season. Easy to get in and out on the weekdays. Nice atmosphere and had a really friendly waitress, who gave is a lot of information on places to visit and eat. The swordfish sandwhich was the best.
Had lunch here. When we first ordered the clam chowder, we were told a new batch was being made and it would be 20 minutes. No problem, we enjoyed a beer and cocktail while waiting. The soup was flavorful but too thin for my liking. Decent amount of clams and very little potato. I wonder if it was supposed to be thin consistency or the adding of cream or milk was rushed.
Outside seating was so beautiful and right next to the docks. The clam chowder was delicious and definitely lived up to its popularity. The grilled asparagus was very bland and needed salt, honestly it looked seasoned but only tasted like light butter. The burger also lacked seasoning but the fries were great. Overall the clam chowder and scenery really took it to five stars
Comfort food, drinks and warm hospitality awaits you at the Black Pearl. Whether inside the bar or enjoying a beautiful day on the outside patio… you can’t go wrong. We chose to sit at the bar and received a warm welcome from our bartender Abraham. He was on top of things, with great recommendations and suggestions. We started with cocktails and beer… a nice Samuel Adams October fest and the ladies chose “the Daily Ration”-Martin Miller Gin, fresh lime, soda w/blackberries. I next tried the local Pale Ale “Whalers”… very nice. The food was great… Native oysters, Cajun Swordfish sandwich and their “self proclaimed” awesome burger served on an onion roll. So stroll on down to Bannister’s Wharf and drop in to the bar… you can’t go wrong.
I sat at the outside bar, and only got a drink. It was very busy, there were 2 cruiseships in town. The bartender was friendly and attentive. The drink was good. You sit right next the harbor. I do want to mention that the customers on my right were regular's and come here often, they had eggs Benedict, it looked delicious and they said they were very good. And on my left were customers from out of town eating clam chowder and said it was good.

This was everything I expected it to be. I loved the atmosphere, upscale Tavern/bar. I was able to walk in without reservation and was seated quickly. My server Stephen G. was prompt and knowledgeable 5star!!!. I ordered the Orange Cadillac Margaritanot a weak drink, the Lobster Thermidor wonderful flavors but about $10 over priced, the Artisan breadboarda bit hard but edible with the oil/balsamic blend or the cream from the Lobster Thermidor I made a mistake ordering it but just went with it, and the Key lime pieedible but not worth $9, I make mine homemade so to me this was worse than a store bought, no keylime tartness. Overall the food was good and the experience was pleasant.
Came here on a Friday afternoon thinking I won't get a seat. But they kindly accommodated me. Tess was my waiter and was very kind, patient, friendly, and professional. I recommend a bowl of their Commodore Chowder. It's alittle runny.l, but the flavor is phenomenal!! The Commodore Burger was very delicious!! Toasted bun and perfectly medium rare. Slighty pricey, but quality does come at a cost. I'll be returning!!
Stopped in for a drink and some chowder during our weekend stay in Newport. This was everything we were looking for. Easily the best chowder we’ve had in NE, also recommend the mussels. Shoutout to our bartender, Mason - killer espresso martini and so friendly!
