I took my 9 year old and 5 year old and we stayed from open to close and still had things we didn't get to do. The outside sports area is amazing. They had so much fun they wanted to return the following day. Parking was free, food was a little pricey but was as expected. You can bring your own inside the dining area. The place was clean and employees were so friendly.
Great place for fun, education, culture, and art. Great for kids. I really appreciated the kid-friendly exhibits that are low to the ground, and the kid-friendly bathrooms. The main downside is, since it's so popular, it can be packed and noisy. I mean, it was hard to talk to the person next to me, and at times I couldn't think straight. It's so huge, we didn't even do all the indoor stuff in one day.
We had a great day at the museum It was a bit busy .The kids still enjoyed it. They really liked the dino area..Would like to go back during the week when its not to busy. The tickets were 34. Each and snacks were $10. for each kid.We didn't know you could take your lunch in ,will do that next time.
This is a must see attraction, especially for children. It’s one of the world’s spectacular and largest museums. It has over 120,000 objects and display pieces. It also has art lessons and traveling exhibition. The visual dinosaur habitat, space, and the playgrounds were impressive. Also a fun train ride and a glass sculpture. Most of the displays are immersive and encourages kids and their families to participate and have fun. The general admission is $27.50. The first Thursday night of each month the tickets are $6 from 4-8pm.
So much fun! Doesn't matter what your age is. I personally, haven't been here since grade school and seeing the trains brings back so many great memories. I loved to be able to share the experience with my family. All the exhibits were fantastic. My boys were thrilled to ditch school for a family - educational field trip!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$21–30
My kids love this place! We have a family membership, which I highly recommend if you live locally and go more than a few times a year. The recent changes to the Dinosphere are awesome and a welcome change to an already cool exhibit.
I have a 4-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl who had the best time here today! We were coming to town, 5 and a half hours away, for a food show with our kids in Indianapolis. We did that and planned a day trip. We spent 6 hours there, and we could have stayed to closing if we weren't trying to travel closer to home. There is so much to do inside and out. My husband, who hates these kinds of things, spent hours in the sports experience with our kids. I cannot recommend this place enough. Even the guy in the parking garage was incredibly helpful and friendly. We stayed at the Drury Inn in Carmel, which was about 18 minutes away, which provides a free breakfast and dinner5:30pm- 7:30pmAND 3 complimentary drinks, which was refreshing!
My daughter and I had a wonderful time here together! I highly recommend taking the time to bring your children here to explore. Allow plenty of time, as there is much to see. She was completely wiped out after our visit and was asleep 5 minutes after returning to our car, lol! We made some beautiful memories during our visit to the Indianapolis Children's Museum.
A must visit when you are in Indianapolis. An amazing time here for kids. Dinosphere is super awesome. A huge bumblebee transformer on display at entrance. Parking is free. Reservation required for entrance. So much to see and do here. One day is not enough. Food court is on the second floor, so you can quickly grab a pizza and continue exploring the museum after lunch.
By far one of the best childrens museums we’ve visited, and we’ve visited quite a few of them. Even with several interactive sites being closed, we were engaged all 5+ hours we were there. It’s a curious kids paradise and there’s so much to learn. My kiddo is 8 and she had a great time. We never got to check out the Riley sports area. Oh. Parking is free!!! And there’s a skywalk between the garage and the museum so you don’t get wet if you go on a rainy day like we did, and no safety concerns about crossing the street.
