The Crag Franklin

I want this place to be better, but it never is. No prices are posted - you get to guess how much it costs for climbing, harness, shoes, and adults versus kids. My impression is the place has never been dusted, nor mats cleaned. Tripping hazards galore. Takes forever to check-in if not a member. Likely ran by someone that loves to climb, but not well versed in running a business. Reminds me of a cramped junior high locker room. Could be so much more, if just take care of the basics. Oh well.

Of all the climbing gyms in Nashville, The Crag (both locations) have the best bouldering. The routes are really creative and there are many different routes for every level of climber.

This place is a smelly closet. My wife and I were hoping for some decent lead climbing. We usually have a great time at climb Nashville, however we decided to try out a new spot. The place is tiny, dark, and smells like feet.. the walls are extremely small (only 5 lead routes in the building) and dirty. the guy working the front desk was nice enough after we had to find him to check in. As with most gyms, they wanted to check us out before we climb. Fine. 20 minutes later, were still waiting for someone. A blonde staff member comes by and asks for a lead belay. What about our climbing? I paid to be here lady. You GET paid to be here. Then we find out that she doesn't know how to belay. Why is she allowed to work and provide feedback if she's that clueless? She had the gall to tell me my figure 8 was tied incorrectly. (No feedback on why, other than that her's "looks better".) We quickly packed our gear and left. Waste of time and $30. I'll gladly drive to climb Nashville any day. The same price (you guys really charge $15 for this ?), professional staff, and a much nicer facility. Hope your new location works out for you. Don't bring this staff.

These two gyms are great and run by amazing people. Can't recommend enough!

They are horrible they ruined my child's birthday by letting us reserve a time online but when we called them they said someone already had reserved it. This is a horrible place. I do not recommend this the crag for anyone.
