I wanted to love this company. On the good side, I did receive the "fixed" glasses back from them quickly. The bad news is that their repair jobs cause future breaks. The attached picture shows my glasses just two weeks after receipt from Frame Mender. The original break is in the red circle, and the new break is in the blue circles. You can see that they welded the original break and then welded a piece of metal on the back side of the bridge. This creates a weak point at the end of where the metal reinforcement is. If they had simply reinforced the bridge to both edges, the new break would not have occurred. Their customer service reply was, "The metal piece we add is to reinforce the laser weld of the repaired spot, not to reinforce the entire bridge piece to prevent future breaks." In other words, we design the repair so that you'll be back.
I rarely post negative reviews for a place but this one was truly worth it. First of all you come in and ring the bell and even though a guy behind the wall says be there in a minute, 10 mins later you're still waiting for someone to talk to. I couldn't wait longer, had to leave and come back another day. Secondly this place is ridiculously expensive for a titanium frame repair $70. I asked if they could also open up my frame on another glass and they said just to touch a 2nd pair of glasses they charge you $25. Daylight robbery and awful customer service...

I was heart broken, my rather expensive Silhouette eyeglass frame broke in half. I was searching for new ones when I ran across The Frame Mender on the internet. I sent them in and within a week they were back and wonderfully repaired just as advertised while saving me a few hundred bucks! The Frame Mender came thru like the Avengers saving my pockets from certain annihilation! Great guys, I wonder if they could fix a slightly volatile relationship that needs repair?
My son broke the hinge off one of the arms of his glasses. I took the superglued, electrical taped mess to the nice gentleman at The Frame Mender and he had it fixed in less than a half hour! $66 for same day repair. Photos are post repair.
I had a great experience here. The arm was re-attached to my glasses for $45 plus a $6 same day fee and for $51 my several hundred dollars frames were good as new! Wish I'd come in sooner.
I love the end results. My glasses were broken In the middle and I thought I would never get to wear them again until I went to frame menders here on 17th Street Nw. Homeboy Justin looked out! He was professional, welcoming and understood the assignment! I think he might have been a carpenter in his past life because my glasses looked brand new, fixed right and lenses cleaned. S/O to Justin - you did good frame menders on hiring him
Super fast and respectful reasonable price compared to places I’ve seen in other states. I came in at 11 they had them done in 50 minutes. Really liked their work on my favorite pair of glasses.
Fantastic experience with mail-in service. They laser welded a broken hinge so that the temple is able to open and close fully, but will no longer "spring" to the side. All at a cost of $55 with a lifetime guarantee. The whole process took about 9 days from the time I contacted them for an estimate. Great business!
My Dad’s glasses broke in half, due to Covid and him living in a long term care facility , it’s impossible for me to schedule him for an eye exam and new glasses. I sent Frame Menders a photo, they responded within 3 hours with a price quote. I shipped the glasses to them the next day and within a week I received them back! Excellent customer service and I highly recommend.
