yes, known for boots, but i went in there today and bought a pair of sandals. They were just the unusual shade i was looking for and they spoke to me. Decidedly they are the most comfortable pair of sandals i have owned, and given their lineage i expect them to last for quite some time. Staff was attentive and helpful.
I purchased the black pair Saturday afternoon. The picture of the red pair was taken in the store. I like the military combat look of the red ones. The staff was of the usual young hipster type. Daniel was my salesperson and he like the rest were helpful, no pressure but attentive despite how busy the place was. The black ones I have are insulated which is nice since the cold is coming. They sold for $248.00 / $ 270.00 w tax. The shopping experience at Frye is superb. I recommend.
Huge shop. Everything is $$$ thou haha. Very good quality leather with some of the classic wears. Its definitely a place to shop for a special one or celebration.
We got a very helpful assistant. She was very accommodating to my wife trying on multiple shoe sizes.
I came here to try on boots so I knew my size to ask for when they were ordered for me as a gift. The boots were all so beautiful it was hard to land on a style, but the staff was so kind and thoughtful in helping me decide! Devon was so genuine and sweet, and he truly went above and beyond with his service! His coworkers were also very helpful and kind when assisting me. Overall a great experience I can’t wait to get my boots as a gift!
Fantastic boots and really lovely helpful staff. My boots are only a few months old now but they're beautiful quality and I can't wait to wear them in for years to come. The employees in the store are super helpful and not at all pushy which is very refreshing. They know their product backwards and forwards.
I've purchased 4 pairs of Frye over the years. They last a long time. Eventually you will have to re-sole them, but I think part of the comfort comes from the sole being leather with some give, so if you drag your heels when walking you may see more wear than from a synthetic sole. My most recent visit in Jan 2020 I had already been to two other shoe stores on the same block without luck finding a nice gray upscale-casual bootie, and had two or more different good options to choose from at Frye. I am always happy with my purchases from this company. I believe Frye boots run a 1/2 size small. I took a star off because I wish I could still drop my boots here for reconditioning like I used to, and sometimes it's a bit slow getting in and out of the store trying shoes on and checking out depending on how busy it is. But I recommend the store overall because the selection is really great, the atmosphere is comfortable, and it is always nice to pick out a color and style you love, and try on in person to get the best fit.
I love my Frye boots so much! yes, they are incredibly expensive, but they hold up so well. Very fashionable, but with the durability of a work boot. Never have to worry about spotted suede or wet toes. Staff knows what they're doing and isn't very pushy.
I have Purchase smith engineer boots and when I got home I found out the color of the shoes is different. Went back to the store and the manager didn't want to exchange them for me. She told me I can try to repair them with a wax. It's amazing she didn't replace the damaged boots she sold me .
Staff was not helpful and sold me a shoe in a size too small for my calves saying that it would stretch over time but it did not even after two years . Eventually I got it fixed by an amazing cobbler uptown - Pavlos Shoe Repair- by getting an extra strip of matching leather entered down the backs. Buy a size up for wide calves and trust your gut and don't fall for the brand name. They have excellent quality but they have nothing but sales pitches in the store. Have them bring you multiple sizes and get the one that you feel most comfortable in.
