I had the special which was Liver and Onions. My sides were collard greens and black eyed peas. Everything was delicious. No room to eat inside. Plan to take out. Building was a little rough looking almost overlooked it. Looked more like automotive shop from the outside but I'm from out of town not a local. Literally a hole in the wall kind of place. But the staff were nice and food was so good. Parking: There was parking directly in front when I was there
This small place is really good. Being a fried chicken lover , I had to check them out. Although I wasn't impressed by the outside, you can't always judge a book by its cover. The prices were decent. I ordered wings, mac and cheese a vegetable. I waited in my car and they summoned me to return to pick it up. The food was great! Although, I live in Gahanna and this place was on Sunbury rd going south , I will be sure to go back for the perch and candy yams. And probably more mac and cheese. Go and check them out. Remember: don't judge by the outside appearance. You may miss some good food. I wish they had peach cobbler. Lol
I ordered the perch, sweet potatoes and collard greens and OMG it was cooked to perfection. I will only eat my soul food at this restaurant and the customer service was just as good. If you want some excellent soul food then go check them out!
How do you know when they’re open for business. No one EVER ANSWER’S the phone. We travel from Pataskala to there and it’s closed . The food is really good !! They’re just not persistent enough for me and that’s the problem that I have with supporting black owned businesses some of them aren’t just consistent!!!
So glad my husband and I got to pick up dinner tonight at The Good Kitchen 614. The perch was cooked and seasoned perfectly, I crave their greens each time I'm nearby and oh my the brocolli and cheese is my favorite - no frozen chopped up broccoli; it's fresh, slightly cooked, so you get all the flavor of broccoli complimented by authentic savory cheese, not runny cheesy sauce. Because the broccoli was nearly gone we got an extra portion of Mac and Cheese that just hit the spot. Their chicken wing dings are cooked hard with lots of crunch - never over cooked. I don't know how they get so much batter and crunch but it makes the meat super moist. Kudos The Good Kitchen! We'll be back again soon.
I gave 2 stars because the guy who took my order was nice. This was my first time there and the Mac had zero flavor just noodles and cheese. The cabbage was severely undercooked the yams weren't sweet and had and way too much spices. The baked chicken has a almost spoiled flavor to it. The chicken wing dings were the only thing I could eat. I wasted 18dollars today
It would be nice if the website, menu AND the sign inside the building stated the correct prices! Then I was told I couldn't order over the phone which I usually do because "they aren't busy" people like to call ahead to avoid the wait in the parking lot. Get there to find out the prices increased because of a chicken shortage but my fish dinner was $2 extra as well... Prices aren't accurate and some days you can't order online
First of all, the menu items need to be updated when items are no longer in stock, prices need to reflect what is being offered, customer service needs to be a little bit better, and the portion size for what you pay needs to be better. The food is just okay, minus the wings. This is my observation over the last few times I've visited the place
Over priced for the portions way over priced got to do better $3 for a scoop of mac
No rating.Have not ate there.Never seems to be open when I'm around there.
