The Greek Festival was a great experience for my family. We enjoyed the live music and dancers, the museum and cultural center, and of course, the food. Everything was delicious, and we especially liked the dolmades and lamb sampler. The dancers were amazing, especially when in their traditional dress. It was extremely busy, so we did have to wait for a long time to buy our food, but the food was worth the wait. The cathedral was absolutely beautiful, with amazingly detailed mosaics and stained glass all around. We really liked the historical presentation tour of the cathedral. The staff were so amazing and helpful, and you got a real sense of the community of the Annunciation Cathedral working to put on this amazing Festival.
Wow, what an amazingly beautiful church!! We visited the sanctuary only, but that alone was worth the time! Absolutely breathtaking! This church wasn't "officially" open today, but since we're in town on the last day of vacation I called and Carol let us in for a quick look. She was super friendly and helpful!
I was here last summer. Beautiful cathedral located right in the heart of Columbus.
Amazing Cathedral
worked with the wonderful staff of Annunciation Cathedral, everyone was great! Really appreciated Teri forgive me if that is the wrong form of Teri and Fr. Demetrois and their kind and caring service. Keep being good people to the world, you are doing amazing! Best wishes
I have visited the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral several times over the years; most often to attend the annual Greek Festival with its great variety of music, dancing, and food. If you are not familiar with traditions of the Greek Orthodox Church, I recommend taking the cathedral tour at some point during the Greek Festival. One nice thing about the Greek Festival is that you pay your admission fee once and then you are permitted to attend the festival for the rest of the weekend.
The Greek Festival on Labor Day Weekend was a great experience for me and my family. The food was incredible especially the Pasticcio and Moussaka. We enjoyed the live music and dancers, and my children enjoyed dancing themselves. We were there at 1:30 on Monday apparently a peak time, and it was extremely busy, so we did have to wait for a long time to buy our food. The cathedral was beautiful, and there was an interesting historical presentation. The only drawback was that there wasn't much for children to do. My kids were impatient to leave and visit Goodale Park across the street.
Beautiful example of my expectations of a Greek Cathedral! Bright, airy, colorful and conducive to spending time in deep meditation and prayer! The Greek Festival was a refreshing breath of celebration and comradery much needed in this prolonged period of isolation due to the pandemic.
Every Labor day weekend, the community of this Greek Orthodox church hosts a 4-day Greek Festival. Delicious home made Greek food and desserts are available everywhere, along with live traditional music and dancing. Three bars give a festive atmosphere, and art, jewelry and cooking displays round out the program. Don't miss Maria's bakery inside for amazing sweets. Take a box home for breakfast too!
The Greek Orthodox Church* most beautiful sight to see in Columbus. There is a wonderful Greekfest going on this weekend. Went to there as a child, I can remember every fine detail. Unforgettable. The inside main area, the church is super big, so much that it made me dizzy. Besides, thats where my familys time capsule is located. My grandfather, who is now passed, he helped built this gorgeous place. I look forward every year to going, sadly, I may not be able to afford it. I love this place so much! Its worth to experience it.
