One of the best and flavourful Thai places I have dined at. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for Thai food in the area. The icing on the cake is that it’s vegetarian! Loved our experienceFood: 5/5
My daughter is a vegetarian and she has been here a few times and I wanted to try it. I was NOT disappointed. The staff was friendly, the food was superb! I had the Pad Thai hold the tofu, my son got the same but spicy level 2, my daughter had the Basil fried rice. She loved the soy meat in her dish. I 100% loved mine! We shared the chocolate orange dessert, which we should have gotten 2 of. Highly recommend and will return!
How nice it is to have a whole menu of options that I can actually eat rather than searching for the one or two veggie options at a regular restaurant. The food is delicious and good sized portions. Will definitely come back, would eat here all the time if I could afford to!Food: 5/5
Wow! The Green Elephant is perhaps the best vegan restaurant I've dined at while traveling. Most excellent!! We had the special appetizer of the day - Curried Puffs. Then split the Steamed Vegetables and Peanut Sauce and a kind of Naan that was lightly fried, accompanied by a slightly sweet sauce. A glass of wine and I was set for slow stroll through the old downtown area.
Amazing place to dine! My boyfriend and I were both super impressed by how delicious the food was and how great the service is! We got the king oyster mushroom tempura, green Thai curry, Singapore noodles, and the fried banana dessert. You can choose your own spice levels for the dishes which is very convenient. Thanks again!Food: 5/5
Green Elephant. Much Elegant! Our sweet sweet boy wanted to go here! And we got into the BEAUTIFUL seaside city of Portland Maine! A friendly town elder welcomed us to the city! We went into Green Elegant and ordered soda. Less ice next time please! The man who I drive with ate some tofu and noodles and had his shirt tucked in because this is a NICE place to eat. Our Sweet boy ate something he liked. Vegan options for those animal lovers who don’t want to kill god’s creatures but also don’t want to eat mud and grass. And for me…Green Curry at the extravagant Green Elephant. The kind waitress said, you want this spicy? I said lemme get a 2 spice. Spice scale goes to 5! 2 is good. I DID NOT want to cause a scene cause Spicey gets me riled up. Can’t embarrass our sweet boy he’s shy! Shyness isn’t bad this world needs all kinds of people. Be understanding and live life with love. So I sipped soda which was blueberries flavor. And not to belabor the point but next time I’ll sip from the bottle…too much ice in the glass. Like the North Sea. Him had gift card! 50 bucks. I loved the curry and caused a small scene!
Decided to celebrate a birthday @The Green Elephant-glad we did! My dish was delicious! Ample portion of fresh flavorful ingredients. My choice was: Thai Ginger Noodles Stir-fried wide rice noodles with egg, tofu, ginger, broccoli, carrots, onions, snow peas and scallionsr A lovely & relaxed positive atmosphere. We will return!
Surprised to find a Vegetarian/Vegan Asian Restaurant in the middle of Portland. Loved the Ambience. Food was great. Started with the Veggie Dumplings - nicely cooked. Loved the hot sauce served with it. Pad Thai was good too, perfect spicy level as required. Thai Basil Rice were Okay. The Vegan Orange Chocolate Mousse was absolutely stunning. Loved the way they served actual Slices dipped in Chocolate.
Great experience! The dumplings were okay, the spring rolls were good and my pad thai was great! The staff were very friendly and the decor/set up is very cute. It was loud because it was so busy and we waited a really long time after getting the bill for the server to take my payment.Food: 5/5
