I’m always leery of trying an offshoot of the original Halal Guys from NYC, but I’m really glad I did here! The quality and taste is identical to the famous street carts I’ve ordered from in New York. I got the regular gyro platter which came with lettuce, tomatoes, pita, a bed of savory rice, and a heaping amount of their gyro meat beef. To make it even better, they lathered it with their creamy white sauce and their spicy red sauce. I also topped it off with complimentary peppers and onions. This was amazing. The lettuce and tomato are just standard cold veggies, but the rice was incredible. It was super savory and had a nice oily coating that made it soft. The meat was also fantastic. It was super juicy and tender, and the amount given was appropriate for the price. Make sure you get extra white sauce because that is what you’ll love the most. It’s the perfect condiment topping to make anything 10x better. Staff were friendly and very quick in making orders. I’ll definitely come back here again when I’m in the Houston area.
Overall solid option for lunch. I got the regular sized combo rice platter. Good portion size, glad that they have a small and regular size for those who prefer a bit less than the regular size which is pretty big actually!. The prices are solid at $10 for regular size. Service was fast and nice. The inclusion of pita is great for more variety in the meal. The pita was ok - they reheat it for you in the grill but I think it was already a bit too stale and wasn't heated long enough so tasted a little dry but mostly soft. White sauce was tasty! Red sauce was hella spicy but also flavorful. Quality of the lettuce was mediocre, tomato was solid quality. The yellow basmati rice was nice and soft but lacking in flavor especially compared to other local gyro shops like gyro king and gyro hut. Chicken was flavorful and juicy. Gyro was also tasty and juicy, more traditionally thinly sliced compared to some other local places.
I’m a very generous reviewer but the food I got here was stale. The rice were undercooked and being a South Asian origin, I can detect bad rice from miles away. I love the beef from Halal guys but this location was underwhelming.
This was my first time trying Halal Guys. Honestly, it was very underwhelming and disappointing. Pita bread was stale and at the end of the day, there’s nothing that stands out about the flavour. The rice was just okay. The gyro was just okay. Then you’re left with lettuce and tomato which…not sure what they’re supposed to add when there’s a fundamental lack of flavour in everything else. I also think that if you need a pre-packaged sauce to make a meal flavourful, there’s no point. And unfortunately, I wasn’t a fan of the white sauce. All in all, when I mixed everything together, the flavour was flat. I wish the rice had a different flavour profile from the gyro and that the lettuce, tomato, and sauces supported that. I genuinely wanted to like this because I’ve seen others passionately devour this lol but I couldn’t even finish it. This is my experience, I know others really love this place but it’s not for me.
If I could give them very Big 0 star The one of the lady was very oversmart Would never recommend and one and will never be back to HALAL GUYS ANY MORE . lady made us wait for more then 20 mints, because chicken was not ready they were cooking so we waited and then after she finished cooking and we were ready to place order she said I don’t have enough for chicken plater , we were like to order 1 chicken and 2nd combo , she like it won’t be enough ,she already knew that there costumers who already order online and some was in store ,why would she only cook that enough for online costumers that means store are not interested in giving service to walk in customers, I mostly not give reviews but today I don’t know why I did this !!!!! SORRY TO SAY BUT I WAS TOTALL DISAPPOINTED BY YOUR EMPLOYEES ATTITUDE AND SERVICE!!!!!
Good if they get your order right. Don't forget to get extra white sauce as the food tastes much better with it. Ideal take out food for study session. The hot sauce will keep you awake just don't do too much of it. This location is not ideal for people who want to park nearby and pickup.
I've never eaten at a Halal place before. My friend brought me here and told me it was good place for a quick bite.its not a big place but has customers coming in nonstop. I ordered the combo plate with lamb and chicken.it also comes with rice, lettuce, tomatoes, pitas bread and your choice of hot sauce, barbecue sauce, "white sauce" and humus. The food was delicious and service is fast. The staff was friendly. If you want to grab something quick to eat but dont want fast food, this is the place. Way better than any fast food burger. Try this place at least once.
Get the Combo platter!!! Absolutely delicious. Stopped here while in town and was pleasantly surprised. As a newbie they took the time to explain everything and what most people ordered. Food was fresh and portions were generous.
When I came here I instantly was greeted with a welcome which made me feel seen and I appreciated that, along with ordering my food with it being my first time the kind lady who was there at the time took her time and explained their menu to me along with popular choices and recommendations, after ordering my food I decided to have a eat in to enjoy the rest of the moment being there an after I ate I was greeted and asked about the food which was really good and I'm glad I came. I highly recommend this specific location because they are really customer friendly and kind
Food is good. Not sure I would go back again though. Ordering was a bit weird. The food didn't stand out as amazing, just overall good/fine. The baclava was fantastic. Tea wasn't very good. And I don't like being charged extra for sauce and the food definitely needs sauce. It's basically lettuce, rice, tomatoes and your choice of protein. Overall, ehhh... In a pinch it's fine Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options but limited
