About

The NYC food concept - The Halal Guys is now in New Orleans

Story

It all started in 1990, when the founding partners opened a hot dog cart on West 53rd & 6th Avenue, New York, NY. The saw a huge demand among the Muslim cab drivers needing to have a halal Muslim meal. They quickly exchanged their cart and began servicing halal food, which became a huge success. They focused on the enhancement of their products to make it different and enjoyable. From that time, they pledged to use the best halal products to serve the public. During that time, they created their special magic white sauce and fiery hot sauce, which our public loves.

Now the quick-service halal street cart company is going national, creating a chain that keeps the core values and provides opportunities to new partners who want to share The Halal Guys experience. The Halal Guys Inc. is a federal registered company that has a registered trademark, name, logo and slogan and is a privately held and family owned.

A lot to be desired, not so Mediterranean-ish food. The staff was subdued and so busy with their phones, that even though my partner and I were the only people in the place at the time they messed up the order. And what kinda gyro do you know without sauce tazikki sauce?
Looking at the location & decor - I was disappointed to the fact that the food served here was "COLD" and lacking taste. I was surprised that even the Pita bread used for our wrap was served cold. The timings state that the shop closes at 12midnight and we visited this place at 10pm and the staff was not interested in taking our order. They were more busy with the EOD cleaning. And like I mentioned above, when our food came it was cold including the chicken gyros. Definitely not visiting this place again.
Food: Hot Sauce is really spicy!Combination of hot and white sauce is really delicious. The platter was pretty good.I would say the dessertBaklava was okayish. Price: Reasonable Service: This place is open until 2 AM.We ordered via UberEats.Pretty good food which is available late in the night.
Being exceptionally hungover, as one typically is in NOLA, this was exactly what the doctor ordered. Amazing gyros, great seasoning on the beef and quality flatbread.
Food is so so. Not so good compare to New York. I'd say it's pretty much same quality just tastes different. Staff is friendly. Plenty seats and bathroom available. A little bit price for a quick bite, but won't make you broke.
I just watched the cashier take $13 cash from me and then ring it up as a no sale so that he could pocket it later. Pretty slick move. A gentleman with glasses and a hair net managers interested.
As we are waiting 10 minutes for them to ask us for the order they are out of rice and it will take them 30 minutes to make it !! Rice is the base of the plater and they are out !! Incredible .. this place is great in Houston or Dallas not New Orleans !! This guy was terrible !
Very friendly staff. Food is exactly like the New York food truck without the insane line! So happy to see this in the south!
I had the chicken platter and tried the Falafel, both were good.
It was really good. And the place and restroom was clean.
