Skewer Gallery's curatorial mission is to accept all original work as long as it is inspired by or otherwise addresses the monthly theme. Pieces are not vetted on an aesthetic basis or chosen for their individual merit, salability or any other set of qualifying characteristics.

Skewer Gallery at KEBAB is excited to provide a space for open expression. The creative impetus is a primal aspect of humans and other animals. The content that emerges may be deeply moving, enlightening, disturbing, titillating, boring, fascinating, banal or may inspire myriad other emotions, thoughts and sensations.

The mission of the open call curatorial agenda is to broadly examine such questions as: "Who decides what is relevant? What is important? What is worthy of sharing with others? Who should make these decisions and why?" It is interesting to offer an impetus to create in the form of a theme and then see what surfaces. It is inevitable that each viewer will have their own responses to the show and its individual components.
