The Healthy Hippy

I have been trying to get to this place for the longest, only thing is they aren't always open. I finally got someone and ordered over the phone. I wanted the surf and turf and they didn't have it. I also tried to order a peanut butter banana smoothie and they didn't have that either. I ordered the California Cheeseburger with french fries and its 100% vegan. When I arrived I found parking on the street and walked over. The restaurant is a cute, little place. My food wasn't quite done so I had to wait a bit. I wanted something sweet to add to my meal but all they had left was carrot cake and I wanted no parts. My food was ready and it came to $11 and I had to cash app the server because they only take cash or cashapp. When I got home I was so hungry I dug right in. The sandwich and fries were good. The bun was soft and the "meat" was well cooked. I definitely will be back to try something else.

Italian Cheese Steak with sweet potato fries inside was 5 stars. The California Cheese burger was 3 stars. The sweet potato fries are 5 stars. Have patience with the wait time. You pay with $cashapp or cash money. Nice option to be able to pay with $cashapp. The staff were very friendly and have great customer service. Good place for vegan fast food.

It was my first time. They didn't have the things I saw on their Instagram page but I ordered a bacon cheese burger. Now it was very tasty and good but sadly I felt like this was something I could have made at home. I will go back again if I'm in the area but I'm from NY so it may not be often. Still enjoyed my food.

I have been Vegan for over 3 years, this place is more for people just wanting to try the Vegan lifestyle. The location is great but they do not have a sign to indicate the restaurant name. I passed the place like two times. The food was your normal processed "soy based," food from the local supermarket. I was expecting them to make their own products, at least the Fries. Nope, straight out the bag. Otherwise, it's a great place if you truly do not want to cook a Vegan/Vegatarian meal. Every Soy based product is not Vegan. Their Drinks/Shakes are on point.

A bit disappointing. While somewhat flavorful ... there is absolutely nothing healthy about this menu. Deep fried, white potatoes, oily/greasy, no ital, garden materials ... frozen commercial products such as Gardein that are seasoned up and fried up. Staff is pleasant, however, uneducated about what exactly is in the food! The chef as well cannot tell you exactly what is in the dishes alone from Gardein or soya of an unknown type. We were super excited about this place. Surely, they have potential to cook up some yummie truly vegan cuisine. As of now, they are merely just not using meat and are promoting that as healthy. Sorry Unhealthy Hippy, that alone does not make your menu healthy. Please change the name or actually provide genuine healthy vegan food that will not contribute towards overweight related conditions. We are cheering for you. Will not refer until the menu and food preparation methods are dramatically changed to actually be healthy. This is coming from a collective of vegans who desire to generously support establishments that offer healthy vegan options.

I was very pleased with the taste of my steak and cheese, w all know plant base food is expensive, but they could add just a little bit more on the bun. Over all my order was delicious and I will be going back and will recommend to others.

The first time we’ve ever eaten vegan anything...we might love this lifestyle if the food is this good ALL THE TIME! In regards to a wait time..we like our food cooked to order! Love the inside too, very colorful and inviting. Hope the sign goes up soon to complement. You all keep doing what you do, making food like this affordable in our neighbor”hood”! We really enjoyed the cheesesteak and peanut butter chocolate cake. Yummm. Peace.

I had the pleasure of devouring a California Cheeseburger with French Fries. Omg! The burger alone was seasoned to perfection and jam packed with greatness toped with special sauce on a buttery sesame seed bun. My mouth pause enjoyed every savory bite . The burger was far from dry, the flavors complimented each other so well that instead of eating half, I ate it all pause. If you are vegan or would like to try vegan food I highly recommend this place. It will fulfill all of your taste buds. Everything on the menu is simply delish! Take Off ~

I wanted to write a scathing review they opened an hour later than Google and IG state, didn’t answer the phone even though I called over 5 times, and the blonde woman w/ glasses at the front was very rude, however the food is actually really, really good. A little pricey considering the portions aren’t that large, but I understand plant-based is more expensive. This is a great place to go for a small, healthy bite to eat, but they really need to work on customer service and professionalism.
