Great airport dinner! Fresh, flavorful Mexican food. Love the burrito bowl and the garlicky guac.
If you're not too broken to put up with plastic forks at a sit down restaurant give it a go. If you're early enough they'll have to make the bloody mary mix and it won't taste like the poison in the United Lounge you could otherwise be in.
The Curritos at the gates in Terminal A is excellent. Eating a pork burrito it's really good. I did not see it in google maps so I am leaving a review here. They have a bar and nice seating area.
Comically inept on all levels . An hour before our flight we got in a line ten people deep with a goal of a quick beer and one appetizer. 20 minutes to be seated 20 minutes to be acknowledged by one of the 20 aimless, disinterested staff. At that point we skipped the food - not trusting it would be out in time. Then we finally ordered our two beers. They failed to deliver on that as well. At that point our flight was almost boarding so we just left. If you desire a $13 bud light and roughly an hour wait this place is awesome. Otherwise just stand nearby and enjoy watching every customer get increasingly frustrated. It's kind of amazing.
15 minutes to get greeted another 15 to get drink. Has wait more time to order good after drink. Finally put in order and food came out wrong. She was quick to walk away and not ask if everything was okay. I had flag down another worker. And wait again to get my food fixed. I got what I order and still was missing parts of it. Even to Pay I had wait 15 minutes. It was horrible service mind you I was by myself only order and entree and drink. I can see my waiter joking and laughing with other workers I get it they are not robots but to have my full service be almost 1.5 hours for for someone with such small order is u acceptable and top all get it wrong multiple times.
Thoroughly disgusted by my experience! Will never eat there again! Sat down and decided to order to go because my flight was scheduled to depart in 30 mins. Surprisingly the food came sooner than expected so I began to eat. As I was eating I asked a server for a glass of water, he shrugged his shoulders and shortly there after a hostess came and stated you ordered to go you cant sit here. Meanwhile there were approximately 20 open tables and I was sitting in a high top table for one. I stated I only asked for to go out of fear of having to leave hastily for my flight. I followed up on my water request with the same server as before, his name was SAM, and he rudely stated you aren’t one of my tables. I asked to speak to a manager who had nothing to say but sorry, didn’t even offer me a glass of water when done in and take out are the same price. I was treated horribly please boycott this establishment !!!!!
$18.50 for a jack and coke. When I asked why, was told because I ordered a cocktail it was a double. No other airport does that without informing the customer. Sent the 2/3 drink back and refused to pay for it. Paid for the rest of my meal. Felt EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE when 3 employees surrounded me and insisted that it was standard practice. Tried to make me feel like I was wrong. You don’t serve someone a double when they order a jack and coke and then not tell them. It’s NOT standard practice. Standard practice is to ask if you would like a double for $5 more or something to that effect.
Can't say anything about my trip to Currito was a good experience. Service was very slow, my waitress was never around and I was asking others if / when I needed anything. I ordered a margarita, that was a mistake. Recommend you just stick to beer. Ordered chicken quesadillas a bit later and got my food and the check at the same time because the waitress was ending her shift, which was another knock against this place. Then shortly after I finished my quesadillas I was told I need to leave because there was a line of people waiting to be seated. While this was technically true, there was 1 person in line. Overall, this was a really poor experience for some very overpriced food and drinks.
Horrible service. I ordered a to-go order, tipped the host and sat on a bar stool to wait for picking it up. Got thirsty and asked the hostess for a glass of water, and she completely ignored the ask for 10 minutes while serving others next to me. Guess she didn't want to serve when she knew there may be no further tip involved. Being in the service industry means having basic empathy for a customer's basic asks. I let the host know, and he stepped in to get me the water himself.
Absolutely terrible. The only reason they get business at Newark airport is because they're the only place at that terminal that sells booze, really expensive weak booze. The food is terrible. I got a warm soggy under seasoned quesadilla and stale tortilla chips. And the service is slow and the staff isn't very kind. Can't blame them though. They're job sucks. Don't go here unless maybe you are stuck at the airport and need to drown your emotions in $16 weak cocktails....
