The Henry Collins Inn

Wow! What a great experience. Wife and I were in town for a retirement ceremony - the Inn was the perfect place to stay. We both got great rest and had a warm welcome with Alexis. The service was excellent and the homemade breakfast was like being at home. I couldn’t have asked for more. The pie that is homemade and served over the weekend was the cherry on top for the whole experience. Absolutely recommend - thank you again for a restful and delightful stay.

Stayed one night on my way up north. Great little spot. Super dog friendly. I stayed in a room that had outdoor access so I didn’t have to keep going through the main access area with my dog. Walking distance to everything. One street over from Broadway with tons of restaurants. Quiet. Plus free breakfast in the morning and something you’d actually want to eat.

I felt very lucky to have found this Inn! A perfect location. Quiet and walking distance to historic sites, shopping and the waterfront. Breakfast was excellent. We loved Room #2.

My mom and I came to Newport for a wedding and could not have picked a better place for our stay. The ladies were so polite and helpful with check in and it was nice and clean. The breakfast that was served was very well put together and delicious. The bed was so comfortable that I almost didn't want to leave. It was within walking distance to many restaurants and shops as well as a short drive to the place where the wedding was being held. If we come to Newport again for a getaway I will definitely be sure to book the Henry Collins Inn again.

This has been our fourth year visiting Newport, RI, and ever since I serendipitously stumbled across the mention of this inn online, it’s been our home away from home whenever we are in this gorgeous coastal town. The small inn is cozy, very clean and perfectly located within walking distance of the bustling downtown shopping area, various restaurants, the Historic district and the harbor. A delicious breakfast is served every morning with fabulous home baked pies and eggs on weekends by the proprietress Alexis, who is attentive, accommodating and friendly. I have only great things to say about this family-run inn, and hope we continue to visit for years to come. 5 stars, 4 years in a row and counting!

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Henry Collins Inn this weekend and could not be happier with our experience. From the moment we entered to our departure all too soon!, we were made to feel like family. The rooms were exceptionally clean. Breakfast was delectable. The location was fantastic. The owner was amazing. There was simply nothing lacking in this experience and we will certainly be back!!

We had the most wonderful time ! The breakfast was amazing and the location is perfect. Walkable to all the shops and restaurants! The mother and daughter who run Henry Collins Inn are so sweet and professional. Our room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely come back and stay again!

My girlfriend and I were taking a short little trip through New England, and Newport was one of our stops along the way. We chose the Henry Collins Inn based on its solid reviews, and reasonable price. We were very pleased with our stay. The proprietors, a mother/daughter duo, were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our rooms had a very colonial feel to them and it was obvious that someone had put a lot of work into this old home to make it B&B-friendly, and to keep it in good condition. The inn's location is great. It is not right in the heart of the town, but is just a few minute walk from anything you may need or want to see in Newport. There is a small lot behind the building that accommodates as many guests as the inn would ever hold. From the looks of the neighborhood, it might not appear to be the best part of town, but never did we notice any sketchy-looking individuals. The ladies who run the inn go to great lengths to make sure that all doors are locked when they are not there, and give you a key to get in after-hours. And after all, it's Newport, RI; how bad could a neighborhood actually be? Overall, we were very pleased with our stay at the Henry Collins Inn. We would go back again, and recommend it to others without reservation.

Wonderful little B&B. They are incredibly attentive and make sure your needs are taken care of. If you're lucky enough to be there when fresh pies are made, then you'll want to leave some room. Great breakfasts made on the spot to your order. Rooms are cute and clean. Would highly suggest.
