The High Water Mark

Portland's best metal bar is hands down The Highwater Mark! One side is the bar which serves no-frills cocktails and seriously good bar food like smash burgers, banh mi, and pork sliders, and the other side is the venue where they put on loud shows in a cozy room. There's also outdoor and patio seating, and AC! I come here every time I'm in Portland cause the vibes are right, the food is good and the drinks are stiff.

Sound at the shows is pretty great for such a small venue! Mixed drinks sometimes have more ice then I'd like, but the beer is priced well and the food hits the spot! Always have a good time.

This place has a fantastic music venue for more intimate shows with a great sound system, nice accoustics and a nice punk dive bar feel to it. There's a side that serves food too. Looks good and clean, I have not tried it yet.

Great music, staff that is straight to the point, wafting of delicious barbecued food. I feel good, safe, and warm here.

Vegan food good. Ticket price fair. The show was a lot of fun and we really enjoyed ourselves. Staff was friendly. The space itself has some quirkiness and history to it. I loved the bird and badger busts near the stage which I unfortunately didn’t think to photograph. Would definitely return.

This bar and the staff were AWESOME! Unfortunately found it because of the horrible tragic murder of DANAE Williams..they tried to help her.. they were traumatized by this..happened right in front of them. When we came to put flowers and mourn her loss they came out and with open arms and embraced her mother and the rest of us with welcoming warm sympathy. They let us take over several tables and let us remember her. We were hestant to even stay very long but after the staff and community, we didn't want to leave! Thank you High Water Mark.

They let me and all my white girl friends in, but wouldn't let our black friend in when we were all far more drunk than him. Typical Portland racism, boycot if you have blm in your bio or you're fake

Cool little venue. Our kids performed there from a week at the School of Rock. The staff was nice and busy serving, I was there for about and hour and did not order anything. Acoustics were a little rough and made it sound not the best. Kids had a great time and they got to perform on a stage for an audience rnce which was cool.

This is my favorite place for shows, and one of my friends works here too so it's fun times all around!

A great vibe and good people keep me coming back. Glad to be back here. A fantastic venue for locals. Prices seen very fair for the quality. Definitely keeps me coming back. Love it!
