Great little shop, so many bee themed items. Yummy honey and honey products.
A beautiful and well-provisioned shop. Great for tourists and locals alike! As a tourist, you can enjoy the beautiful mural, peruse well curated bee and honey items like honey, candles, body care products, household products. As a local or a tourist with extra time!, you can take beekeeping classes and become an amateur beekeeper. The owner is a wonderful and friendly lady. She can explain the history of her shop and answer bee-related questions. As someone who has been part of the community for a decade, she can also offer suggestions if you ask. Definitely a place worth visiting, don’t miss it!
All things bees and honey! My go to for local, raw unfiltered honey. But don't stop there! Mead, wine, home goods, jewelry & bee keeping supplies. Shop owners are incredibly knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly.
A wide array of bee, beeswax, and honey themed items that make great gifts, and of course, a wide selection of honeys including many local raw unfiltered options. Plus, everyone that works here is so nice and helpful- I love this little shop! Check out the backyard beekeeping in the summer.
Great little shop for both those that want to buy honey and bee based products in all sorts of forms and supplies/bees for beekeepers alike. They have an enclosed hive in the shop that is really interesting to look at. They are really kid friendly. They even arrange visits to local schools, libraries, and other places of that sort to educate kids about bees and beekeeping. They bring an enclosed hive with them for those visits which kids love. They also offer classes for aspiring beekeepers. Great addition to the greater Portland community.
Expensive but worth it honey. After having these guys honey I now cant ever take the stuff in the grocery stores seriously. Would recommend buying at least once from here so you can know what real honey tastes like
Top notch service, equipment and advice from a friendly, supportive, experienced staff. Quality beekeeping equipment and supplies at prices comparable to what you find online, if not less expensive. They also offer classes. Can't say enough about this place.
I came to the honey exchange for to do their “hour with a beekeeper”— basically an in depth, hands-on lesson about bees. Phil taught us SO MUCH about bees, showed us many different hives, let us hold a frame full of bees! At end of it, they set up a honey tasting for us to really get a sense of the subtle differences in taste. Meghan even threw in a little birthday gift from the gift shop! Learned so much and had a great time. The “hour with a beekeeper” would make an excellent gift for any aspiring beekeeper in your life.
The Honey Exchange is my favorite shop in all of Portland! Lovely gifts, tasty local honey, delicious wines, and run by amazing good people who care deeply about their community. It's also THE hub for local beekeepers - I learn something new about honey bees every time I step in and I love running into my fellow bee nerds <3
Wonderful beekeeping supplies, honey products and some gift items. But the real star here is the knowledgeable and super nice staff, especially if you keep bees. A great place all around.
