Clean, nice rooms. Great walkable location. The only downside was the inability to get room service. The restaurant let the phones go to voicemail and the front desk just quickly transferred us to the restaurant. It would have been great if the fellow who seemed so accommodating when we checked in at the front desk had taken our order and facilitated the room service. We would have tipped generously. We have a baby and didn't want to take him into the restaurant since it was late and he was tired. We ended up having to go down to the restaurant. It was VERY SLOW. There were two servers both were serving and behind the bar, one other table of four people, and one guy at the bar getting take out. They were friendly and accommodating of our baby, but they *could* have done room service. For a four star hotel, they should have at least one person who can fill this role. Also, there was no morning pastry/yogurt/any food option. I expected this amenity at a four star hotel.
My stay was great here, staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They have a very lovely restaurant. Our stay included a $15 credit towards their snack room, there were plenty of great snacks to choose from at a reasonable price. The game room was a lot of fun. They offered a lot of activities to rent for free, including bikes and Nintendo switches. The parking area was very well lit and felt safe. I really enjoyed my stay here and look forward to staying here again next time I am in Portland.
Loved this hotel. It is stylish, comfortable, clean and had everything I needed. I also liked how they had cold filtered water in the lobby, also loved the restaurant and the patio was stunning. I would recommend this place to my friends. Also the staff here are all incredibly welcoming and genuinely care about guests. I had a personal incident occur during my stay personal emergency and the manager treated me with the upmost care and respect during a sensitive situation. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to her! I really appreciate your kindness and compassion.
Parking available in the front or underground, did have to pay for parking but I felt safe leaving my car there. Felt very safe and comfortable and the hotel staff was amazing. Room was definitely worth the price and was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Great location to go grab something to eat or go chill in the lounging area with the fire places. Will definitely come back if I return to Portland.
Lots of reasons to stay here! Check in was a breeze. Jordan was an absolute pleasure, & did everything she could to accommodate early check in for us. Room was very clean & comfy. I’d say the biggest plus about this hotel is their affordable underground parking garage. Even some of the nicest hotels in town valet guest vehicles in 3rd party garages that aren’t the most secure, & you have to wait 20-30 minutes for your car. Taking the elevator directly down to the secure garage for all day in & out parking can’t be beat in Portland. Good location! Would definitely stay here again.
I was concerned to see bathwater has a brown tint. The water here is probably not safe to drink. Only one washcloth provided. Small rooms. No amenities to speak of. Basic TV channels. Room, linens and towels reeked of cigarette smoke. The attached restaurant, with its very limited menu, was empty the entire stay. Starbucks is two blocks away. That would be the closest true amenity. On checkout, I was disappointed to discover a hidden resort fee, when I had prepaid all fees and taxes. Nowhere was a resort fee mentioned. Reception had the nerve to tell me resort fees were required by law. When I informed her resort fees are not required by law, she told me she was told to say that. any kindness at the beginning of my stay on the part of front desk was certainly missing at check out. All I got was attitude. no supervisor or any other management or accounting person was available. This was during normal business hours. Avoid this deceptive and sketchy business.
This was the perfect hotel for a weekend getaway in Portland. Located close to transit and within east walking distance downtown. Room was nicely decorated with touches that made it feel less like your typical hotel room. Ours had a court yard view overlooking a little oasis in the city where there was nightly happy hour with live music which is a nice touch. S’mores on the fire pit are a must. Thanks to the friendly staff. We would definitely stay here again.
Loved the ambience and game room down stairs. The employees were very professional and kind. Nice and quiet atmosphere, good to get away from the hustle and bustle for awhile. Also really appreciated the supply of bath essentials in the shower. Good quality bedding but there was a hole in the sheet. There was also some black patches at the top of our bathroom mirror looked like it needed to be repaired.
Cons: Checked in and our key didn’t work. Had to lug our stuff back down to get it fixed. When they fixed our key, there was already someone in that room and we saw their suitcase and shoe and rushed out. Went back down again and they told us they upgraded our room for our troubles and the room was the exact same! Like are you kidding me!? We asked if we could have the amenity fee discounted and they said they couldn’t do that although now reading all these other reviews they could have easily given us something else like a free day of parking. So we settle in our room, we see a lady bug in there. Later saw another bug or two. Didn’t service our room unless asked. When we finally asked to get our room serviced, then our key didn’t work the next time and we had to ask for a new key AGAIN! The staff was kind but did nothing to try so make it up to us for all of these mistakes. Then on the morning we were going to leave before 8:30am even someone tried to open our door, but luckily our deadbolt was on. Should I have fussed and been rude to get some money back!? Idk. I just didn’t have the energy to do that and wished they would have been more proactive. Pros: clean bathroom, good bed, good location for what we were doing.
When we first arrived in the room noticed it was a little stuffy inside. Turned the ac down to 65 to cool as quickly as possible. Ac continued to run all night without cooling at all. The next day decided to call the front desk and they got maintenance to come take a look at the ac. The maintenance man found a wire that wasn't connected behind the air filter. He connected it and I immediately noticed a difference in cooling. Thanks for the quick fix. The maintenance man asked us if we like chocolate. He gave us two chocolates wrapped in plastic in the shape of miniature hammers with the guy's name on the label . It was a nice gesture in terms of customer service. On our last night I was taking a shower and after I stepped out of the tub I noticed what looked like a blood drop on the towel on the floor. I happened to look up at the ceiling and saw water droplets on the ceiling and a few of them had a red tint like it was mixed with blood. Also noticed a red ring stain around the ceiling light. While I'm not sure if the ceiling was painted over from a previous incident or something happened in the bathroom on the floor above us. It was just mysterious to see that. We had an amazing stay otherwise. I forgot to mention the bathroom door in the room is very heavy and difficult to open and close. It's a sliding door that doubles as the closet door also. Anyways the sliding door is solid wood and heavy. There is a small circular indentation for a door handle and it's barely enough to use as leverage to open and close.
