For a real slice of traditional Italian food this is the place to go. They make their own dough and sauce everyday and the ingredients are fresh. The pizza are great with crispy yet firm dough that is covered in real mozzarella. All their dishes are wonderful and cooked to perfection. We had the pizza, calzone, Stromboli, Greek salad and several other dishes. Everyone and everything was great and we look forward to our next visit. We got carry out but they have outside seating and convenient street parking.
Let me start with this. Washington, DC is one of the worst cities in the country. Maybe the world. I try to avoid visiting Washington, DC at almost any cost. We had to make a trip to Washington today for a visit to the Embassy tomorrow, which will certainly be an experience fitting of any trip to Washington. Our lunch at the zoo today was awful. But, this evening, we decided to make the long trek across the street from our hotel to eat at the simply named Italian Pizza Kitchen. It was phenomenal. The kids had a cheese pizza, my wife had a panini, but I had the Florentine Pizza, and it was the bomb. I would voluntarily suffer through another trip to Washington to eat this pizza again. And again. Oh, and it was also very reasonably priced, considering it's in Washington, DC. Edit; Julia told me it's reasonably priced for anywhere. And she's right.
My girlfriend and I were in DC for the weekend for a family event. This restaurant was a three minute walk from our hotel, so we decided to dine there. The food was great! We both ordered a 10" pizza. The thin crust is a perfect mix of crispy and the outside and chewy in the inside. The cheese was amazing. The sauce was a great accent. My girlfriend also had veggies on hers. The staff was very friendly and the place was very hospitable. Our second night in DC, my girlfriend wanted to eat at the Thai place next door, while I wanted to try another selection from the pizza kitchen menu. We called both places and asked if it would be okay for the two of us to share one of their patio tables even though one of us was ordering from the restaurant next door. The Thai place said no. The pizza place said since we asked first it was okay, but we'd have to sit at one of the tables in the corner. I am very grateful to the staff at the Italian Pizza Kitchen for being so accommodating and hospitable. I had the Mac and Cheese, which was good, and the bread sticks, which were very good. I highly recommend this place for both the food and the friendly staff.
Really delish crust!! Very family friendly & great service! Also, bonus points for having a nice clean bathroom with a changing table!! I was hesitant to try the garlic sauce, but it was bomb!
Mediocre pizza and less than average customer service. The only thing this place has going for it is the location. Perhaps a better business will occupy the space one day.
Best margharita pizza in the DC area. Always a go-to place when my wife and I are in the area.
Been ordering from here for years. Pizza, pasta, desserts are all fantastic! High recommend.
Amazing food, very attentive service, am happy to discover this neighborhood gem. Can't wait to go back.Food: 5/5
We ordered delivery on 1/3 the night of the snow storm! They were able to deliver to us within 40 min and everything was hot and exactly what we ordered! We loved the chicken Parmesan panini and garlic bread! The meatballs were under-seasoned our only complaint but the tomato sauce was amazing! Definitely would recommend
I was pleasantly surprised with how good the pizza was, I'm usually not a fan of pizzas made at sit down restaurants but it was really good. My group opted for outdoor seating and there were plenty of tables available and the scenery is nice. Our waiter was nice but he did not seem to have much help so the service was on the slower side. The prices were a bit high but it's kind of expected considering the location. Overall, this is probably my favorite restaurant in the area
