I found myself hungry in Salt Lake City when I found The Kathmandu restaurant. I found the staff to be very polite and helpful in choosing from their extensive menu. I ordered chicken Vindaloo with a side of garlic bread. It was genuine Indian cuisine and it was delicious. They have a lunch buffet and a full dine-in restaurant. Great job guys! Hope to see you again when I pass through SLC next time.
We were on a trip from out of state and were looking for a lunch spot in the Millcreek area when we came across The Katmandu online. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great. The Chana Saag and Daal Aloo ko Soup were both outstanding! My husband enjoyed the Chicken Tandoori. We ordered the bread basket with four types of naan. The naan was different than we expected we prefer a soft, buttery naan, however, it was fun to try the different varieties and the sweet bread made a nice little dessert. We would eat here again if in the area.
Pictured is plain naan, saag paneer, chicken tikka masala, and malai kofta. All were delicious! Portions were appropriate. Service was VERY fast and staff was fair. Prices were great. Would recommend!
I lucked out today with this restaurant. My previous visit was great but this time the take out no so. Malai Kofta- kofta dry and hard inside.Felt like not properly defrosted or cooked. Rice was perfect and Kulcha good. Raita for 3.95 i had to add picture for you to see the size you get for this price. Its a joke.More like sampling size.Insode very few extra thin strips of cucumber and carrots.
You earn 5 stars with great food. Oh, and the service and everything else is great, too. We have been looking for great Indian food...this is it. Lovely and tastefully appointed inside, unlike some restaurants that over do the regional decor. Vegetarian options: Quite a lot of vegan options. Parking: Ample parking. We were there at dinner with some parking to spare. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access. No steps, wide doorway and space between tables, too
Wow. What a disappointment. Ordered three different dishes from here and they all tasted the same. All overly like Cottage Cheese. Both the chicken and lamb were tough. And, the vegetarian dish had minimal vegetables. The overall experience was very disappointing. The only upside was the Vegetable Pakoras were decent.
Whenever I try a new Indian restaurant, I always make sure to have a dish of saag paneer on the table to compare to other restaurants and this place beat all others. You can really taste the spinach here. The lamb I had was also very good.Food: 5/5
The last 2 times we ate there, we had the same poor experience, both times with the same waitress. Not sure if it was her or the kitchen, but both times, they managed to mess up our orders, and both times one of us had to wait for them to cook the dish we had actually ordered in the first place. What is worse is the arrogance of the staff. Instead of apologizing, they acted as it was our fault! In addition, the so-called 'Prawn' dish was just of few tiny shrimps probably bought at Costco. Total rip-off. Needless to say we are done with this place.
We have been frequenting this restaurant for about ten years now. We love the quality, authentic Indian food, atmosphere and staff and the price is right. Thank you so much for feeding us, we love you.
I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant. I spend my money ordering online only to get there and they act like I am not a real customer. My food was not ready and they could not tell me when it would be done. I showed up after pickup time and they just kept telling me it was not ready. It was like they knew they already had my money they gave two craps about me anymore. I will just keep giving my business to the Bombay House and never return to this place.
