The Oar House

Looking for some local cuisine after an afternoon play. Walked in and no hostess to greet us. We went back to the bar and the bar tender seated us. Ambiance OK, but no view to the outside. Menu very expensive. Waitress and service were excellent. Here was the downside. I ordered the cheapest entree on the menu, which was a $14.00 personal pan pizza, about as small as the dollar pizzas you can buy at Market Basket. The crust was thinner than a Nabisco cracker and tasted like one. Toppings were very, very meager. My cocktail was just shy of the cost of the pizza. When wife and I left, our bill, to include tip, was close to $50.00. Essentially, this restaurant comes down to a preference for location, little more. Best left to the high rollers.

It was our first time at the Oar House but not our last. Delish food, delightful staff and wonderful atmosphere. One of the best Mother's Day ever.

Really nice place, we went there originally for a good piece of meat; but I ended up eating a delicious bouillabaisse! Sometimes you need to your mind! The food was delicious, the service was good and the deco was typical. What can we expect more? Nice place that I would definitely recommend!

I was so excited to finally try this place. Had heard great things. We went on an evening where we happened to be 1 of 2 guests. But ok with me and the service was amazing! I ordered the Calamari and a roasted beet salad. It appeared the beets were not roasted.. it could have been better described in the menu as a healthy portion of greens on a bed of sliced beets. It was good just not what I expected. The biggest disappointment was how overcooked the Calamari was. I will go back and try again as I was told it was a brand new menu.
