Maybe someone else in my position would be quick to give just a star or 2 but despite the outcome of both my back surgeries not being what anyone would hope they would be I do not put the blame on Dr Sandquist or his team. My issues progressed over the years in a work environment that was physically difficult with time restraints. This made for a very stressful environment and I should have seeked help years before. Dr S is a great Surgeon and I completely trust him and comfortable on his surgical table. As long as I don't wake up to see him holding a chainsaw or something like that.
Dr. Sandquist is a highly skilled brain surgeon. He operated on my husband 3 times for benign meningiomas over 6 years. My husband has been able to live a longer life thanks entirely to Dr. Sandquist. I would recommend him without hesitation. Not only is he superior in his profession, but he is kind and caring for his patients also.
I had such an upsetting experience. After arranging everything in my personal life to prepare for surgery and recovery, and confirming all the details with the clinic multiple times, I showed up at 6am on the day of surgery only to be told that my surgery was cancelled and someone was supposed to have called me. I’ve worked for a surgeons office for 5 years, and this has never happened. I’m speechless.
I would love to share an in person experience but they can’t even keep an appointment. It would be one thing if the reason they couldn’t keep the appointment was consistent. I don’t mean ever time the reason needs to be the same. For example; if you call and say the doctor will be on vacation that day that’s fine. I mean you should of had that figured out before you scheduled, hence the frustration. Then when you call they tell you how all these emergencies have happened. Well that might be true so why did you lie to me when you left the voicemail mail. Now how am I supposed to trust anything else when our relationship starts out with lies. When pressed for the real reason I was told that other people were more important than me. Just because I hadn’t fallen off a roof means my pain is less important then someone else’s pain? Oh yeah I did fall off a roof so where is my help. Just because it wasn’t yesterday doesn’t mean it’ hurts any less then the day it happened. I’d recommend making multiple appointments with multiple doctors. Even their hold music irritates me. Telling how important my time is. Tell that to my ride who has been struggling to get the time off need to take me in since I can’t drive. Respect my time by keeping appointments. Respect me and be honest. Lastly and most importantly……don’t tell anyone that their issues are not as important as someone else’s.
I spent lots of money for an MRI and scans and whatever else they requested before my appointment for them to no even review them or look at them or read my medical story before they just prescribe PT. Same old song and dance. During the appointment I HAD TO TELL THEM what was in my MRI and my health history although you fill that out on so many pages of paperwork and it was like they weren’t listening or the didn’t like my answers just felt like I or my desire to feel better wasn’t important, but I got the bill promptly. Lol
I had a telehealth appointment. Connection was fast, easy, and convenient. We were able to look at images and do all the things we needed to do. Dr Ng is very nice—she explained things clearly, but with compassion and with options that I was able to weigh with her. I felt heard and I left with a greater understanding of my medical issues. She also followed up on the consults she was going to do with my other providers which she offered to do very quickly.
Working with Dr James is a delight. She is articulate and supportive, allowing room for me to participate in decisions about my healthcare. The Virtual calls seem to be working out well too. Working with Dr Deshmukh was easy and helpful. He answered my questions about the original surgery and the upcoming procedure with kindness. I appreciate that as well as his skill as a surgeon and the information he gave me to help me make a good decision. Thank you.
I waited for a month to see Dr. Vincent at the Oregon clinic and ended up driving 40 minutes to the further hospital because it was more convenient for him. When i arrived the staff informed me that they had forgotten to call to tell me that he had cancelled all of his appointments for the morning. In addition, they let me know that they would be pushing my appointment back another month. So not only did I waste 2 hours of my day, but also I was supposed to wait another month? I would never trust someone that irresponsible to cut open my body. Whether it was his fault or the people he worked with, it's not worth the risk.
Dr Olivera and his team are exceptional! I have a complicated medical condition and they are working with me to get the best treatment plan possible. Him and his team treat me like a person and not just like another patient number. I have had 2 big procedures with him and they’re always willing to discuss any matter with me in a timely fashion.
Dr. Sandquist has always treated me with courtesy and compassion. I have put my “spine” conditions in his capable expert hands many times. As a surgeon and a caring physician I highly recommend.
