I’ve been going back and forth on what star rate I want to give this place. I will premise by saying that the drinks are spectacular and the food is just as delicious. However, we did not enjoy our waiter at all. He took away the experience for us which was a bummer because I’ve been wanting to visit this restaurant for MONTHS! we celebrated a birthday and I simply wish that our service was better. The hostess was absolutely delightful which was great because we anticipated the rest of the staff to be just the same but alas, it wasn’t like that. I’m not sure if I’d return. From that alone, I decided to give this place 3 stars because the food and drinks were very good.
What a cozy intimate bar & grill! Perfect for a date night! I fully enjoyed myself. The drinks were tasty and consistent created by Jacqueline. I will definitely be back again!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: No
This is a beautiful bar with good food and an old world feel. It feels swanky and upscale without being too expensive. I really enjoyed my cocktails and food. The thing that takes it from 5 to 4 stars was our server. I don’t remember his name, but he criticized my friend for her food choice and told her that her preference was weird when it was not at all unusual. That sort of put a damper on the experience.
Owl Bar is a great place in Mount Vernon for good food and great drinks. It's one of my go-tos if someone asks about a place that feels special and celebratory without feeling stuffy. You could easily meet a group of friends here, a cute date, or a group of coworkers for after-work drinks. Service and hosts here are always pretty busy-- definitely try to reserve your space ahead cause I think it also helps them plan for the night. Now, the interior is INCREDIBLE! The historic building is also a venue space that hosts large events like wedding receptions, but The Owl Bar is tucked in a separate part of the building. Prices for the bar are comparable to most of the neighboring spots, but the food is often hearty and I find it to be more filling so more bang for your buck here. I have tried and enjoyed their MD Crab Soup, Duck Fat Fries, and house burger cooked medium-rare– all were very good! I'm normally cautious with crab soup, as I often find it too salty, but this wasn't too heavy on the Old Bay and had a good amount of crab in it : Vegetarian options: Limited vegetarian options Kid-friendliness: I have seen older kids here during lunch and early dinner services with their families. Would not classify as "kid friendly" Parking: Limited paid street parking + nearby local paid garages. Wheelchair accessibility: Call ahead and ask, as the main front entrance has steps to it but I believe there is a lift. Dietary restrictions: Limited options for dietary restrictions-- check the menu on their website or call ahead!
This is my new spot for brunch. Good is amazing. There's bottomless Mimosa, It's so calm. I love the history of the building, and the fact that some of the decor is original. Its like this beautiful hidden gem and I can't wait to go back.
Pretty good food. Better atmosphere and drinks. My wife and I got wings, duck fat fries, and a burger with two old fashioneds. There were a ton of wings and they were solid! The fries and burger were fine, just not remarkable. The drinks were very well mixed. Super balanced and delicious. And a great value for a cocktail at a bar. Overall, I'd come back here for a drink at the end of the night. I'd just prefer to try other nearby restaurants for dinner beforehand. Entrance is through the Belvedere hotel lobby. Walk through the hallway of photos of former diners back and to the left. If you get lost, there's a hotel employee by the elevator who can direct you.
Traveling from NJ to see family and stopped for a drink on our way in. WOW. Staff was so unbelievably welcoming and sweet. Drinks were 10/10 I got a Cosmo and my s/o got a mule. Bonus was food network playing in the corner. Wish we lived closer to visit more often! Thanks guys!
The staff here provided excellent service and the drinks were great too. The atmosphere here is relaxed and a good place to come with friends if you’re trying to get good cocktails and and hang out. The picture on this review is the Oaxaca Old Fashioned and it’s currently my favorite cocktail drink here.
Went here last night for the first time and had the greatest time…I think my favorite place in Baltimore!!! Everyone who worked there was so kind and fun, Sergio, Jackie, Mark, Sophia, Jose, they all seemed like best friends and it was so sweet!!!! Can I be buried here when I die
Place is awesome. Food and atmosphere are great. Fast and nice service. Really cool and eclectic atmosphere. Beautiful lobby. Drinks are unique with some standards, e.g aviation, etc.
