Nothing but fantastic things to say about The Reserve. Been wanting to try this place for a while and happy to report it did not disappoint. Seasonal food, freshly prepared. Small plates that are inspired, and easily shared or not. The staff and kitchen took the time to "tune" items to our table ensuring sharing of appropriate notes and adjustments for tastes and quantity. Big kudos to Nolan, who ran the entire evening as bartender, host, sommelier, and waiter. His knowledge of the menu, cocktails, wine list, and easy table demeanor created a truly wonderful dining experience. Pace of dining was superb, dishes delicious, and the care shown in service and execution sublime. The chef even shared a recipe for a divine dressing, and sources of ingredients, much appreciated by our foodie group. Please do yourself a favor and make a reservation at The Reserve. You will not be disappointed!
Great place! The staff was very friendly and they gave us some good recommendations on the food and the wine to go with it. They really know their food and their wines! The menu isn’t big but because the plates are not huge like in most restaurants, we were able to try different things and everything was super tasty! Everything about this restaurant is really well done, the whole experience was great. To top it up they have some great cocktails. We will definitely come back! Thank you!
The Reserve is becoming one of our favorite little spots. Just upstairs from DRP and a world apart, quiet, no kids, better food and the cocktails are great. Interesting selection of cocktails but if you don't find one you want just ask Mike to make you whatever or tell him what your thinking and let him make it up for you. The small plates are tasty and surprising filling. Only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
The food and drinks are good. Entering from the lower level, they had a candle burning the smelled AMAZING. The restaurant is small, really small actually but it wasn't full when I went so it was completely fine. The drinks again are so good- I had the bourbon drink that had a hint of cinnamon. I will say the cheesecake is nothing to write home about but the other food items I had were good- the burrata, scallops, swordfish, cheesecake, creme brulee
Less than 10 tables in this second story "sophisticated yet laid back atmosphere". Very good wine and beer, excellent staff, and the food was very high quality. Good portion size, great presentation, and fair prices!very similar to Evening Star around the corner With an ever changing menu, its a very unique restaurant!! Definitely worth a try! I know I'll be returning for more! Note its reservation only and open thur-sat
We had heard a rumor that there was a great restaurant upstairs above DRP but weren’t sure if it was a myth. Until we actually opened the door, half of our party thought we were about to walk into someone’s living room. What a great surprise and huge relief to walk into the cozy, charming atmosphere of The Reserve. It’s the perfect restaurant for a cold fall/winter night - the cocktails are original andand every plate we ordered was delicious. Highlights included fried avocado, bang bang broccoli. I feel like I’m in on a secret by knowing about the Reserve. It’s one of my favorite things about moving to Del Ray last month!
To say Tj is an amazing Bartender would be an understatement! He takes his time and knows how to serve drinks while communicating with patrons. He is a big hunk with delicate hands to help carve the perfect orange slice for an enticing cognac drink.
Delightful. Wait staff is super attentive, the food is delicious, the drinks are tasty, and the ambience is very chill. Small plates but quite filling. Highly recommend.
Sadly it closed - We dined here 3 times and each experience was wonderful. Southern fusion menu with exquisite preparation and nice presentation. Small so reservations are required. Hope to be back soon!!!
Really nice "small dishes" environment and good drinks. Don't call them topas the chef doesn't like that. Everything I tried was delicious.
