I lived at the Residences at Capitol Heights for nearly 11 years. It was truly my home and I loved living there. You cannot beat this location, especially if you love living in the city. This is an URBAN living environment, and while Denver is an awesome place, you still have to take into account that you are living in a CITY and “city problems” exist in every city. The key to thriving in Capitol Hill you have to be AWARE. The interior of the units are cement and most of the floor is wood laminate, which look really nice and are easy to keep clean/maintain. Kitchens leave something to be desired if you love cooking, but I made it work . If things go out, usually the building is very quick to replace or fix. Maintenance at Cap Heights is 2nd to none. The guys that came to fix anything were ALWAYS kind, courteous and professional. They are awesome! If I needed help hanging anything they were always there to help me. The people working here care about their residents. They have nice amenities; nothing crazy, but they do have workout roomscardio and weights, game room admittedly, I had only been inside once in 11 years I was there, shared patios with stunning views. The thing about this building is that the residents have to have ownership of reporting issues. So many times I found issues that other residents ignored, but once I made the front office aware of the issues, they addressed it almost immediately. I encourage this for people living here or really anywhere that has a landlord/tenant relationship, if you see something or someone suspicious, go tell the office or call security. Both the front office and security will do everything they can to help or fix the problem. Or call the cops. But you can’t expect them to fix something they may not know about. Additionally, residents need to take ownership of NOT holding the doors open. Almost every single issue in this building stems from people who don’t live in the building gaining access into the building via residents holding the doors for people they don’t know. During my last year at cap heights I moved out November of 2021 the situation with the fire alarms was significantly better than previous years. This building skews a bit younger. Sometimes younger people are idiots that pull fire alarms; other times it was people-experiencing-homelessness that would pull the alarm in the garage in attempts to gain access to the building at-large. It is a large building with many reasons for a fire alarm to go off. There is opportunity here for the building to be better, but I know they are always willing to listen/try ideas on how to address the issue. Yes, car break-ins happened whilst I lived at Cap Heights. I found that if I didn’t lock my car, it would be rifled through; but that happens literally everywhere in this city. I pay for parking at work and it cost about $175, so I personally thought the parking was a great deal at $90, especially since 85-90% of the parking is covered. I can’t emphasize enough, this apartment complex is located in the heart of Cap Hill…Denver is not a little cow-town, you have to be aware of your surroundings and environment. Don’t leave valuables in your car. The city of Denver literally has giant traffic/construction signs throughout Cap hill advising the same warning. I payed for the extra storage and I thought it was great deal for 15 bucks. There was a break-in that occurred, but I have my suspicions that it was a former resident who broke-in; it is not common knowledge to know where storage is located and entering the facility is not exactly “easy”. This is a good place to live. Is there an opportunity for the building to be better? Yes. The building would benefit from cameras at main access points. And I think the office needs to be is a bit more transparent about what occurs on the property, as I believe this would help the residents understand certain protocols. I utterly miss living at cap heights. If things ever change in my life, I would move back to The Residences at Capitol Heights without hesitation
I moved into Capitol heights a few months ago and I don’t think I could be any happier with it. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. There are lots of dogs and dog owners alike, and there’s so many spaces to go hang out and enjoy some time to yourself. Not to mention the balcony views and the views from the cardio and weight room are some great ones. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to live downtown!
I wish I could rate this building 0 stars. The building staff are unprofessional, unorganized, and rarely answer emails and phone messages timely or even at all at times. We have had 4 false fire alarms since moving in, 3 of which were in the middle of the night between 1 and 3 am. Families were out in the street at night with their pets and kids. People had work in the morning and got no sleep. Because this happens so frequently, people have stopped taking the alarms seriously which is a safety hazard. We have paid $15/month to keep our stuff in an indoor storage unit in the basement of the building. There was a break in and we had over $1,000 of camping gear stolen. The building staff wouldn't even do the bare minimum of giving us the $15/month we paid just to have all of our stuff stolen. There are no security cameras or any way to prevent this from happening again. The parking garage that we pay the high amount of $95/car/month for is really unreliable. They have you evacuate the garage twice for multiple days throughout the year and sometimes we come home and there's an event so you can't find a spot or have a lot of difficulty doing so. The insulation sucks and our apartment is freezing throughout the winter even when we run the heat, which makes our bills extremely high. Do not walk, RUN away from this building and rent somewhere cheaper, more secure, and where the staff will show you respect.
I recently moved in and I can't be happier. The only thing better than the building, its location, amenities, etc. are the staff. Shawna and Vanessa are are amazing! They helped make the move in process as convenient as possible, they went out of their ways to take calls and so much more. I haven't had to deal with any maintenance issues yet but from what I've been told, it should be just as easy and convenient for that as it was moving in.
EDITED: I'm adding to my review after a break in in the storage room in which I lost a lot of my property. Management at this building won't refund what I paid for my storage unit on top of what I lost. THERE ARE NO SECURITY CAMERAS in this building. It is not safe. The building is not run professionally. Do not live here. Also, the fire alarm went off yet again. ORIGINAL: I've lived here for a year. I think the staff is helpful when they can be but they are unable to resolve the issue of the fire alarm going off in the middle of the night. Parking is expensive and you are not guaranteed a spot when the Masonic center that is connected to the building has an event. Our apartment is fine but you can probably find better.
Absolute amazing experience living here! Staff great to work with, easy to communicate with. Have lived in our corner 2 bed for 2 years now and have loved it!! On a busy street but you cannot hear anything from the apartment!
My boyfriend and I are going on our 3rd lease here and we love it. The staff is great and very willing to help you out with any issues, Maintenance is timely, and the location couldn't get any better. The only issue we've had in the last few years is occasional noise. However, the manager took care of the issue by talking to our surrounding neighbors and also posting a general notice to all tenants. I've always been happy here and will be sad to one day leave.
Mosaic has managed my properties for several years. After a horrible experience with a previous company I was lucky to find them. From Derek, my main contact, to Mike and Liz Morganroth and everyone in the maintenance department, they are top notch. I have had nearly zero vacancy, rents kept at market, tenants that seem happy and best of all, no surprises. They keep me up to date on the status of things and do a GREAT job monitoring the condition of the property. I own property in 3 states and only wish they had offices in CO and ID. Great group to work with, you won't be disappointed!!!
