The Ritz Diner

Stopped in for breakfast and had some delicious 1/2 order of biscuits and gravey, Scrambled egg and German sausage. Great way to stayed fueled for the day. Kim the server was super friendly and there's plenty of options to choose from. The price won't break the bank either. Highly recommend stopping if you have the time and they aren't packed. To-Go options also available

New owners and it shows! This is NOT the old Ritz diner by any means. They clearly have not found their rythem here....yet. We sat and ordered and after ordering in a place that litterally has four tables of 4, two tables of 2 and 7 seats at the bar it took almost 40 minutes to get food!!! My waffle was cold didn't even melt my butter, eggs didn't look like two, forgot our bacon. The sausage was super greasy and the waitress was MIA more often than not. The biscuits and gravy were the best thing out of all of our food. Tasty gravy, light biscuit and hot....that's the only thing I would recommend rite now. The cook....not the waitress, the cook him self did offer and make a hot waffle when I asked to swap it out. Side note...the oj is one of those ones that tastes like it's on the verge of going bad. We will be waiting a wile before trying this place again only because they have new owners.

Stopped in because McDonalds wasn’t gonna work. Very glad I did. Half order biscuits & gravy with hash browns, two eggs scrambled. Cup of hot tea. Start with the biscuits - big, light, fluffy, tender, sweet/salty perfection with hint of cornmeal. Gravy almost a French white sauce but better. Again; light, not greasy, just enough seasoning. Hash browns slight crunch outside tender moist inside with a taste of butter. Eggs as close to perfect as a cook can get ‘em. Half order was just enough for a fat old man. Will return to try other dishes when I’m in Salem. Or maybe I’ll just stick with the biscuits & gravy!!!

Old school vibe, excellent service, and excellent food. Had the chicken fried steak breakfast and it was not greasy. Don't let the small building or location fool you, you will be sad if you don't try it.Food: 5/5

What a cute place! Don't take that the wrong way, this place punches waaaaay above it's weight in food and atmosphere. I tend to love these kinds of restaurants- they feel personable and friendly. The staff actually cares about you and you feel like an old friend sitting down at one of the twenty or so seats at this small diner. The food is wonderful, the guys in the kitchen pour some love into it. I went with the "Customer's Choice" 1/2 order of biscuit and gravy with hash browns. The biscuits are huge and delicious with fantastic texture, I couldn't finish the whole thing! No hint of floury gravy either, just creamy, savory, and with the perfect amount of meat. Hash browns came out crunchy and perfect. They've also got a neat little collection of mugs from over the years, brought in by customers and friends so you never know what you're gonna drink coffee out of! Ritz, you're doing it right. <3

After 30 minutes of waiting for my order a lady walks in and orders the same thing as I do and leave 5 minutes later. When she walked out I stood up said cancel my order I'm out of here. Tried to call back to speak to owner but they said he could he's cooking at the moment. And that tells me the owner in new exactly would just happen and let it happen

Nice big portions and I love my potatoes and the hashbrowns are perfect soft-crispy inside and golden brown slightly crispy outside and just right over medium eggs. This place is also a definite must
