The Roost is a hideout that pays homage to iconic spaces of the past where high and low can find common ground and drink, eat, laugh and carouse together.
The Roost is an East Village Coffee, Espresso, Craft Beer and Brown Spirits Bar, but it’s more than just that. It’s a hideout or hangout that pays homage to iconic spaces of the past where high and low could find common ground and drink, eat, laugh and carouse together. It’s an outpost for the ones that want to get away from the busy streets and enjoy the company of their friends.
The Roost is the type of place you could easily spend an entire day if so desired, stopping by in the morning to grab a fresh baked sticky bun and a perfectly made Latte. The morning seemingly rolls on after you take the corner seat and grab a newspaper while people watching out the window onto Avenue B. The afternoon wears on and the music segues as the sun moves overhead. You enter the parlor room and sink into one of the tufted saddle brown leather couches in front of the fireplace and catch up on some of your emails while you enjoy one of the many craft beers hand selected from the greater New York region.
Later on a friend stops by and you grab two seats at the bar only revealed behind a set of sliding barn doors. You chat with the bar keep while sipping a few Bourbon Manhattans.
You sit under the vintage skylights positioned over the bar, surrounded by exposed brick and reclaimed barn wood and feel you have stepped back in time and discovered one of those long lost hidden social hangouts where all walks of New York life could easily surround you. Its…. warm, comfortable, and inviting: a place you find yourself drawn to more often than not.
