I hired Earl to shorten the length and arms on a dress, make 4 lap quilts from fabric I purchased, and shorten the length of a pair curtains. The quality of his work on the dress and lap quilts was good, but very, very late. He called to reschedule my pick-up date three times, by several weeks. It missed the gift-giving occasion it was meant to be. This alone would have earned a 4 star review, but the curtains were crazy uneven with a nearly 2" variance from one side to the other! The fabric is semi-sheer with texture, so probably not the easiest to work with, but this was ridiculously bad. I had to tear out his hem, recut, pin and iron in a new hem, and take it to a neighbor to run on her machine. I didn't take the curtains back to him to fix because after all the delays with the other items, I didn't feel confident he'd get it done or do it well the second time. I did my research and wanted the best tailor in town and Earl is it. This jacket has so much meaning to me I only wanted the best work and The Sewing Man did not dissapoint! I can't say enough how sick my jacket turned out. He did three patches on my leather hooded jacket, it had an inner lining which made it more difficult but he still took the effort to sew them on to a flawless finish. It looked like the jacket came with the patches! The quality of work, plus the friendly atmosphere and great conversation were top notch. Earl is a great tailor, a very charismatic and friendly guy, and easy to have interesting conversations with. I was impressed with his work - he fit some outdates suits beautifully and made them more modern, as well as actually fit me properly. That said, be prepared to give Earl time & flexibility. He is a 1 man shop and organization could be better. He just hired on someone new, so that should definitely help. I almost had a negative experience but Earl made sure he did right by me and met my deadline. I now have 4 more suits with him that I'm going to give him all the time he needs. Thanks Earl!

What a fantastic experience with the SewingMan. I was in the area and was looking for someone to sew on my old high school letterman patch on my new jacket. Not only did the SewingMan do the job, he got it done the same day! He went above and beyond!
