The Ugly Dog Public House- Highlands

Came in Saturday Evening (5/12/2018) and the staff said to "sit yourself". Waited and waited only two tables away from the bar. Other people came in a got their seats and then more people came in to find their seats. Wait staff immediately got to their table with menus to take their orders. Never got a glance fron the wait staff. Never felt like a 3rd class citizen until then and there. Lots of open tables so, they weren't that busy. My wife and I usually go there when we visit the area. maybe it's time to find another place to frequent.

Such a fun and happy place to be in the evening while in Highlands! The food was wonderful - I can highly recommend the grilled Salmon with mashed potato and creamed spinich. They are known for their burgers too. The night I was there, the live band played a wonderful, foot tapping set of Appalachian country with a bit of a Scottish flavor. As a dog-lover, the tasteful decor of all things dog was perfect.

Staff was amazing. Came to ugly dog after food service was stopped and the bartender checked with the kitchen and they still were able to make food for us. It was great!

Upscale establishment with good draft beer options and better than average pub food! Order a burger and they will not only ask you how you want it, but they'll bring it the way you ordered it! 😄
