I work in an office building one block from this location. We use UPS all the time. I come to this location with two packages and each one requires about one inch of tape and they want to charge me four dollars. The cashier felt sick about it and didn't want to do it. it's not about the money, It's about an utter lack of respect and a complete lack of service. The manager is a complete rude, arrogant piece of work. My company will not be using UPS Any time i'm involved in shipping anything. While I understand this is a franchisee, when a company approves a franchisee, and puts their name on that sign they are responsible for the reputation and the service at that location.
I came here with a prepaid shipping return. They told me that it would cost me $6 to print a 1 page return label. Their website states that prints and copies are $.22 per page. The guy was extremely rude and could not explain where he was coming up with $6. I left and went to the local FedEx store where I was able to print the label for $.20. Also, if you ever go into FedEx to ship something through their services, and you need a label printed, they will do it for free. From reading all the other reviews, it looks like I’m not the only one who has had a very similar and unpleasant experience with the older Asian man that works at this location. In response to your response: this wasn’t for any service except to print out a 1 page document. The website for this stores specific location also advertise the price of printing at $.22 per page. While I was in the store I was able to go onto the website to have this document printed and paid for online at $.22 per page, while the store was telling me in person that it would cost almost $6. Being an individual that uses mail services often, I have never paid more than $.50 to print a piece of paper. I am certain this was a scam, and if it is not, then the prices on the website for THIS location are falsely advertised. Regardless, the unprofessional and rude demeanor of the employee I am assuming is the manager or owner of this location is enough for me to never go back. FedEx is a 5 min walk from this location, they have better services, and will print your shipping labels for FREE. I would love it if you could justifiably breakdown how it came to almost $6 to print one piece of paper. I even had my own tape to tape it to the box. What a SCAM.
Just called this location about 15 times over the last 2 hours. 4pm, 5/24/24The receiver is quickly picked up, then I can hear the TV etc in the background, as well as breathing, but no verbal response. I continue asking "Hello?" for 2-3 minutes with no response until the receiver is then hung up. Seems like someone is sitting on their a$$, answering the phone, and then setting it on the desk to defer duties. Way to lose business, going elsewhere.
I have been dropping off packages about once a week for the past six months or so, and have always had a positive experience! Mr. Yang greets me by name and the other staff are always friendly, wishing me a good day etc. Even at the busiest times like Saturdays, I have never waited more than a couple minutes.
This store is completely incompetent. I used them to ship several packages for a business conference, and one of my packages never made it to the location. Apparently it is STILL sitting in the Baltimore location after more than a week. When I tried calling to have them overnight the package, FOUR times in a row they simply answered the phone to get it to stop ringing then just put it on the counter. Never said hello, I just hear backround noise for minutes on end.
The Asian guy who works here do not want to deal with any Amazon Returns. He wants you to taking care of knowing everything about them. He just wants to scan the barcode and ship them, because as he says, he doesn't want any responsibility for if something goes wrong with them. He actually held the return and made it harder to process because he complained through the entire return and refused to even know what the items and only focused on the barcodes themselves. He knows he's the only UPS in the area and he purposely gives them deplorable customer service because he hates his job that much.
On March 27, a package was delivered. On April 4, the package was not there. Mr. Yang was asked to check & confirm, he dismissed the request. I called The UPS Store, no answer, however using another number, The UPS Store answered. Mr. Yang confirmed that package is there. I'd just left less than 10 minutes before. I finally retrieved the package days later, when I inquired about renewal. Mr Yang dismissed me & said not yet. At this time, I have important federal mail en route. I asked Mr. Yang to simply call when it arrived so that I’m not wasting time running back & forth. I never heard from Mr. Yang, so I had to run down to the store every day to check for myself. On Wednesday, April 10, 2024. I entered the store to check on the mail again. Mr. Yang, looked in the mailbox, “No, mail!” Then he approached me, “Your, your daughter? She’s [my first name], right? I explain that’s my name. Mr. Yang dismissed me & still misnamed me. “Your renewal is coming up! She complain too much!” I tried showing Mr. Yang that I received a package on March 27 that was not there on April 4, when my daughter arrived, but he’s steadily threatening me about refusal of service due to filing a BBB Complaint. Once he realized that I was right, he apologized and then walked away from me without answering my next questions, moving onto the next customer. I left feeling attacked, he was retaliating against me for filing a BBB Complaint. I have a federal mail sitting at The UPS Store, that I am scared to retrieve because Mr. Yang’s behavior towards me. I called UPS HQ, who confirmed that each UPS Store is an independent franchise, therefore Mr. Yang has the authority and power to refuse service, as he pleases. After reading the reviews, it's evident majority of the poor reviews are from minorities. I get it now, I will be taking my service elsewhere.
I met the store owner Mr. Yang in 1996 when I work at the law firm on Calvert Street. I will bring packages to him to be process. After 28 years he is still friendly with a smile. When I walk in his establishment I always get greeted with a hello and my first name. when I leave, he always says see you next time with a smile. Thank you Mr. Yang for your outstanding service that you give to the UPS Store at Inner Harbor location.
The employees are not respectful and responsible of their duties, such bad experiences multiple times, Updated after a response from UPS: I read other reviews and realized that everyone has the same issue. The person in the store always asks for extra money for all returns, ignoring the fact that these are free returns. Their responsibility is only to receive the package from the customer and scan the prepaid barcode. This has happened to me multiple times. Initially, I even paid $10 for a $20 purchase to be returned. After a while, I realized that he does this intentionally and possibly ignores the rules. Every time he rejected my package, I went to another UPS promptly, and they accepted the package with no questions. I think UPS should take action on this issue. Is nobody supervising this guy?????
I used this place as a UPS package pickup point. At first, they claimed they couldn't find my package. When they found my package, the manager asked me why I had it delivered for pickup. Then he charged me $45 to pick up my package. When I called UPS, the customer service representative said that the fee should've been between $25-35. he then asked me, "Did you ask why the fee was so high?" as if paying a fee that large to pick up a package is acceptable to begin with. Terrible customer service all around.
