The W Nail Bar

Updating to 1 star. It’s been a week and four of the nails are lifting. Also due to the owners response not addressing the main issue of not having the supplies needed and the poorly done job. Meh at best. This place is clever marketing and Instagram filters. They’re marketed as “all natural” and while that may be true, the DND products used are the same that I’ve seen at any other nail salon that offers gel. I went in for gel-x extensions. My appointment started 15 min after the scheduled time and I waited at least another 10 while the tech looked for sizes to fit my nails. She ended up using nails obviously too large. I mentioned they were too big, numerous times, and they needed to be shortened. Instead of almond I ended up with a weird bullet shape. I asked for reshaping, again numerous times, but at this point I had been there for two hours for essentially press on nails. I can’t comment on a pedicure but I can comment that I wouldn’t book one - the chairs looked highly uncomfortable and the basins were basically copper buckets. It didn’t look relaxing at all. After trying this place I’ll be going back to my regular dip. W also markets not using drills but they still buffed my nails with a file and had the same result as a drill but took twice the amount of time. I live in the neighborhood and they definitely have taken advantage of the “German Village Tax”.Service: Nail extensions

Everyone was super friendly, and the person who did my nails was ok with me just relaxing and not talking much. They even made my nails pointed for me! It has been a few weeks since I got the gel polish put on, and there are no signs of the polish coming off.

I’ve been a customer of The W for awhile. I lived in Columbus five years ago and wouldn’t go anywhere but The W for my nails. I went to them for my wedding nails and everything! I thought they were the best, no question. I moved back to Columbus last June and of course, knew I wanted to come back to The W. Unfortunately, every time I have visited since moving back, the quality has been on a steady decline. My experience yesterday was kind of my final straw. I brought my daughter with me to take advantage of the “Mommy & Mini” promotion they were running. I was so excited to bring my little girl, as this was her very first mani. When booking the appointment online for her, regular polish OR gel was an option. I booked my daughter as a regular polish but upon arriving for our appointment, I asked if I could switch her to gel. I was told that they “usually don’t do gel on little ones”. I wasn’t going to argue but then why is it an option online when booking the appointment? Then, we sat down to get our manis and it was like it was a race to see who could finish the fastest. My daughter was finished in about 15 minutes and the tech immediately ran off to work on another customer. My tech was very friendly and we chatted but I just felt like she was rushing the entire process. Our appointments were finished in less than an hour. I don’t expect to be there all night but it’s nice to get out of the house and go get your nails done and I didn’t feel like it was at all a relaxing experience. My daughter’s nail polish has basically all chipped off already and she’s really bummed about it. I was really hoping for a better experience for her. I’m super disappointed that I might have to start looking for a new nail place.

1/28 UPDATE: Today, I was sent a receipt and charged for services that I never received or had scheduled. I never booked an appointment today to begin with and I was never contacted with confirmation that services were scheduled with my information. There are many other amazing nail places to go to in Columbus. Watch out for fraudulent card charges from the W, they don’t have the customer’s best interest in mind. I was really looking forward to my appointment but unfortunately experienced very poor customer service. The morning of my appointment there was a big snow storm and hazardous road conditions so I unfortunately had to cancel my appointment as it wasn’t safe to drive. I made multiple attempts to call the location when they were open and nobody answered. The only way I was helped was through an automated text that said somebody would call me as soon as possible to help. I was never called by the location for a follow up. When I tried to contact customer service later that day they turned the lack of communication back on me saying I never replied to their message, which I had and provided screenshots to their team. In the end I never received an apology or additional assistance. I was charged for services I never received despite my multiple attempts to reschedule my appt and checking to see if the location was open during the storm. I saw someone post for this location that they offer “first time forgiveness” and this was never offered to me. It would’ve been especially helpful considering the weather was out of my control. Hopefully this isn’t how they treat all of their customers!

Came in for a manicure recently and had Rain. She was friendly, talkative and precise. Made sure I liked my nails each step of the way, the end result was perfect. Will book again with Rain!Service: Gel manicures

Worst pedicure ever. First why small copper bins?? Then the tech had no Idea what she was doing. I at one point had to tell her to clean under my toe nails. The message sucked. Do NOT RecommendService: Pedicure

I want to love the W Nail Bar but there manicures don’t last. My last experience I got a gel manicure and the nails peeled off the next day. II emailed them and this was over a week ago and still haven’t made it right. For the price you pay for an experience kind of disappointing. And you can’t talk to anyone only text kind of takes out the human connection because a lot is lost in text or email.
