Purchased a motor for our inflatable dinghy. After searching multiple dealers in the area I found Washington Marina had the exact motor in stock. Emailed Tim and he replied, on his day off. All communication was done by email. I picked up the engine the next day. Tim took the time to walk me through the engine and the operation. Great experience and would highly recommend.
Smelled like fish. Edit: 1 star to 5 stars I have now realized why it smelled like fish, it was, in fact, because we were close to the bay. Great business guys though!
A local partner, left over from an age where relationships matter and trust comes foremost working with your mechanics. When looking for the true to their word experts who have had over 30 years getting boaters back on the water this is the go-to destination. When I’m out on the water I need to know my equipment is going to work the first time, that trust starts at the front counter at Washington Marina. I plan to be going back for years to come.
Great service, friendly staff, fair prices on outboard motor tune-ups and winterization.
The parts department here is top notch. I have a somewhat uncommon engine in my boat, and some of the widely available parts listings online are incorrect for it. They are the only place that has managed to help sort this out and get me what I need year after year. Their customer service is excellent, and overall this is a huge asset to the boating community in the DC Metro area.
Boat broke down Thursday. They overnighted the part and had me up and running next day. Service is impeccable and these guys really know their stuff! Pricing was also very reasonable. I will be doing continued business with them and will refer friends and highly recommend Washington marina. Thank you Bob and Jeff and the entire staff!
Very nice people but service is horrible. Lots of excuses but no results. Very limited parts inventory. All the traffic brought by the Wharf development makes getting here a real hassle. Every time it rains the docks are locked in with trees, tires and phone poles. Owners have little interest in running the business. They should have sold property when the Wharf redevelopment happened. Very bad place to dock your boat. Go elsewhere.
A mighty fall of what once was a great asset to DC. In 2005 I bought a Ventura trailer from this marina, and over the years had brought my outboard regularly for service in. In early Spring 2017, I planned for the trailer with boat to go to a boat yard for the winter, so I went to my trailer dealer Washington Marina to ensure I would be ordering the correct hub bearing replacements. That would leave plenty of time for the bearing sets to arrive while the boat was in the water, the trailer empty, and replacement simple. Despite my inquiries, assurance was given they would call when the bearings arrived. In late November, I called once more only to find the bearings had been there for weeks, but they forgot to call. By then it was time to haul the boat. Spring 2018, the boat is launched, and now I find time to do inspect & replace the hub and bearings. In the course of which it becomes clear, the replacement bearing set was incorrect. To recount: Accepting that it would cost more, I went to my local marina mostly because they were my trailer dealer, and would remove the uncertainty of ordering online. I took the receipt and bearings one unopened, the other of course opened for it was only in the act that one discovers that the parts were incorrect. In response, they accepted 0 responsibility, and offered nothing at all I just wanted to swap for the correct ones. I knew Bob Stickell Jr. as honest, trustworthy, and warm. I don't know what happened to this marina, but would now recommend you never risk stepping inside.
Old, run down and dirty. Expensive, no fuel, very end of No Wake zone. They try to deal with every brand of engine manufacturer yet have only a small selection of parts on hand and service is terrible. None of the technicians are factory trained but they will tell you they are and charge you factory trained prices for labor!!
I rented a slip for the 4th of July fireworks and we had a wonderful experience at Washington Marina from the time we sign the contract with Susan and buying parts from the best Marina parts guys in the area. With the COVID and social distance my family was safe in the gated Mariana.
