The Wayfaring Buckeye is a social place to stay. Why stay isolated and alone at a hotel when you can be immediately plugged into Columbus by staying here?
At the Wayfaring Buckeye, we provide a clean, comfortable, and social place for your visit to Columbus Ohio.
Established in 2010, we pride ourselves on offering more amenities than your average American hostel (bikes, continental breakfast, use of the laundry room, linens, lockers, fast Wi-Fi, guest computers, 24 hour coffee or tea, BBQ area, outdoor hot tub, two kitchens, two common rooms, limited off street parking and much more). The best part is that these amenities are all included free.
However, we understand that people don’t choose to stay in hostels just because they are inexpensive. Hostel travelers know that good hostels are places where they will get to meet other travelers and have a memorable social experience. This is our focus at the Wayfaring Buckeye. We love to organize regular outings to area bars and restaurants and you might even see us out with our nine-person “Surrey” style bicycle in the warmer weather. It’s also not uncommon for guests to get together and organize an impromptu potluck feast. We love having movie nights in our theater room and we welcome you to enjoy our cable channels and streaming movies/TV as well. Finally, our large front porch and our spacious common rooms often end up being a gathering place for guests looking to converse.
We are located in the energetic University District in what is called the Sohud neighborhood about 3-4 miles North of Downtown. Though the hostel is located on a quieter residential street, it is mere blocks away from dinning, nightlife, and shopping. We understand that most travelers have the impulse to try and stay close to Downtown when checking out a new city. However, that is not a good strategy in Columbus as all the action is actually North of Downtown in this city (everything downtown closes up around 6 pm where the clubs, galleries, museums, and restaurants are all to the North). If you plan to take public transit, we are located close to the number four bus line (cota.com) and there is a free shuttle bus service from our street to High Street near the University (trip.osu.edu), so getting around is pretty easy.
We hope you decide to make the Wayfaring Buckeye your next home away from home!
