Renaissance in the Belly of a Killer Whale was a delight. So great that the Wilma gave this wonderful show a forum to be seen. Next stop should be Broadway! Love the artistic atmosphere of the Wilma. Their lobby cafe is quite good. A Philadelphia treasure!
Great spot to do a little work or study on the laptop at the lobby Cafe. They have a good selection of coffee, bagels and other bites. *Vegan friendly, if you're into that.* Clearly not a review of the actual theater, but if the lobby Cafe Good Karma is good, the theater itself must be equally as good.
A great experience. Took a family member. Saw "Fairview" and enjoyed the experience. Conveniently located, excellent acting, story line.
We watched the wonderful BalletX , what a great art in contemporary Ballet and the music along with the singing just pulled it all together . This was my first time at this theater, i loved the seating, you can see from everywhere. Pleasant staff.
Pretty cool place to stop by and see a show. Is not my type of thing but I still enjoyed it. Keep up the good work hopefully you survived through these difficult times. Philadelphia needs more things like this to do. Five stores all the way. a wonderful place to probably go on a date or even to take a older loved one to show that you love them.
A really great place to see a show. There is not a bad seat in the theater. I saw the comedy sportz world championship here. It was a riot. Teams from different cities battle in improv matches similar to whose line is it anyway. They were fun and silly. If you like to laugh i highly recommend it. I know you will have a good time!
Place was nice, however the show Dance Nation should of came with a warning 21 and over. Also, if this was children age thirteen in my opinion was seriously not appropriate for this age group. Also, my niece who has been dancing since age 3 and on competition dance for 5 years, is 16 and she was with her boyfriend and they both did not like it at all. Was not funny and made no sense. I just wish more information would have been posted of what this was really about.
Great venue. Resident theater for BalletX. Not a bad seat in the house. Actually sitting in the front row is a disadvantage because you are so close that you can touch the performers, but you can't see the zoomed out view. Nevertheless it's always a wonderful time at the Wilma.
The little Cafe outside of the theater is really cool, but inside of the theater itself is very small. There aren't any aisles to separate the rows of seats so you have to scoot through the whole row of people if you end up sitting in the center seats. The seats are also very close together so you're up close and personal with your neighbors. It's a bit claustrophobic so I wouldn't want to have to be there for longer than maybe an hour and a half.
The Wilma is a small theater but they can fit a ton of people into it! The dynamic of the stage with the angled seating that faces inwards to the stage is great. The theater is very clean and well taken care of. It's also right next to a parking deck. I'd like to see more shows here!
