What a great venue for emerging theatre! I went here with a friend to see Bob: A Life in Five Acts and it was a great time! As I walked in, the will-call was right in front of me and they had my tickets ready for me. Inside it's clean and the lobby is well lit. The space opens up nicely - allowing for the crowd to mosey around until show time. There's also a small bar set up with libations and snacks and a self coat check. The show itself was great - funny, enlightening, and thought provoking - told through a coming-of-age narrative. I felt there wasn't a bad seat in the whole house. The seating was stadium style so I was able to comfortably view the play without having to bob around the back of someone's head. The acoustics were great, and the performances were spot on! The Azuka tends to provide support for smaller productions showcasing new and rising talent, and I'm glad I was able to have the chance to enjoy this show brimming with potential! Would def recommend checking out this theatre and the show!
I attended a performance of Reverie by James Ijames @ Azuka on Sunday. I throughly enjoyed the play and the actors delivered powerful performances.
Great experience! Although is pay what you want, supporting the arts is always satisfying. Don't be cheap.
