I’ve been here 3 times and absolutely love the atmosphere, wine selection, and food. The fact that they have all their white wines available chilled by the bottle is a huge plus for me in the hot summer months! However, when you order BTG, the bartender or waiter hand-pours the glasses and I have definitely been skimped both times I ordered. When paying $19 for a glass of champagne, it is disappointing to see a small serving poured probably around 3oz like the other reviewer said and then have other people at your table order wines poured by a different server with clearly a larger serving.
Upon entering, we loved the atmosphere here. Lively and chic inside! Everything wine! This was their second day open and the sommelier gave us options and tastes for more of the full bodied wines. We settled on the Syrah which was bodied just right for our taste buds. The presentation for the cheese platter could have been better. The caviar was not to my taste. Hoping to see greater things for this new spot!
Love this spot. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and solid selection of reasonably priced bottles. Would love to see them expand their hours on Fridays and Saturdays to allow for more time for a post-dinner nightcap - 10pm is a bit early for us night owls!
New beautiful wine bar in NODA. Satia was so knowledgable and friendly. My friend wanted a low sulfur wine and Satia recommended one that we always get now. I love the vibe here and will be a repeat guest.
Loved the vibe. The wine selection is great and food was delicious.
Great and laid back atmosphere. I'm not a wine fan myself but they have solid food and beer options. The group I was with got a few bottles to split and loved them both! Highly recommend visiting here if you or your party loves wine!
Enjoyed some great natural wine and snacks and had the best experience! They have a variety of wines from different regions and the staff were very welcoming and were able to answer all of our questions about various wines. Will definitely be coming back!
I have been so excited for this place to open in NoDa! Huge wine bar fan and I just moved to NoDa, so perfect timing. However, I was slightly disappointed. First, their snack menu really only holds appeal for seafood lovers. If you’re hungry and are a vegetarian or don’t like seafood, you have very few options and it’s already a small menu. I’d love to see a dip or hummus or something to help round out the snack menu to appeal to broader appetites, and just to add more options in general. Additionally, for a “dive wine bar,” they were pretty expensive. They charge a $10 uncorking fee if you buy a bottle, and I truly don’t think I’ve ever seen an uncorking fee that high. Pretty disappointing. I also felt the decor left some to be desired. It has potential, but felt a little unfinished and bare inside. I will say the staff was super nice, and I know they opened super recently so I hope they’re receptive to feedback and will make some adjustments to be better as they grow! Looking forward to giving this place another shot sometime soon.
First time visiting Bar a Vins, and it was a lovely experience. Very happy to have a quality wine establishment in NoDa. The owner/sommelier did a fantastic job of listening to our taste and suggested several perfect choices. Service was very attentive. All the bottles are top quality, and with a bit of research are priced at or below market price. The $10 corkage fee is well worth the opportunity to enjoy a drink out and have advice to explore tastes you might not normally try. Can’t wait to visit again and try new wines and expand our wine knowledge.
This place just opened and it has the best atmosphere and selection of wine! The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and kind. If you are looking for a great price on wine or a good place to learn more about what kind of wine is out there this is absolutely the place! They have great wine and snacks too!
