Thorpe Auto Detail

I've probably had this place bookmarked for a year with the intention of coming in when my car's anniversary rolled around. One reason I'd been putting off getting my car detailed was because although I don't have all the tools to do it myself, I'm rather particular about it, especially regarding polishing. Without even mentioning my particularities about car maintenance, Thorpe Auto Detail seemed to share a similar mentality car care - only do what is necessary while preserving the integrity of your paint and clear coat. After speaking to the owner about their process, my confidence was won over. When I arrived to pick up my car the next day, they had the car parked under specific lighting to show me the great detail given during their work. My car looked just about as good as the day I drove it off the lot! Although I had a slight heart palpitation initially at quote I was given, the moment I saw what they did with my car - all the etching, swirl marks, minor scratches, on my paint, the dull leather and magically gone - I felt it was all worth it. I also had some bad luck when 3 hours after picking up the car, I noticed these odd orange flecks embedded on the car that weren't there before - apparently a result of pollen or rust from parking too close to the CalTrain tracks. I quickly called Dave for some advice on how to get rid of it since obviously it's impractical for me to keep going back if this just happens as a result of parking where I work. He was super nice and offered to show me how to take care of it and even sent me away with a care package of products! All in all, yes, there are plenty of car detailers out there who do a decently good job at a lower price, but if you desire absolute perfection, these guys are your best bet.

Had Thorpe detail both a newer car and an old Jaguar. Both turned out excellent. What really impressed me was their knowledge on what not to d/not to try, especially for the Jag. It's all original including original interior and paint. Someone who didn't know what they were doing could have done some damage. I was stunned by how much better the interior of the Jag came out. I took my 2011 BMW M3 to Dave's shop in July. Dave is very personable along with his team. He is super transparent about the process along with the products that they use. You can see the level of quality at their shop by looking at the surroundings too along with the vehicles that they work on. The paint color on my car is pretty much like a royal blue and after their three step process it looked impeccable. By far the best detail the car has had so far. Nice to also chat with fellow car enthusiasts.They really dialed in their client service level and he gives you a loaner too. I was so impressed that I brought in my father's Tesla Model S to get a detail as well. He was impressed with their work too!

Your car will look like new again once Dave Thorpe and crew are finished detailing it. I've had him take car of my cars for about 30 years now and I am always amazed at how good they look afterwards

I contacted Dave about a tar problem on the paint of my white GTI. He responded very quickly and after a couple of emails we worked out a time for him to take a look at the issue. He saw that my car was not need of a complete detail only the tar removal. He then proceeded to give me for free the product I needed to remove the tar from my paint myself. Along with the advice that I would need to make sure it was done correctly.

This shop is one of the few that can deliver a flawless result on jet black paint. They are why I have spent the last 20 years perfecting my skills at paint correction and protection. Thanks
