Thrifty Car Rental

My worst experience renting a car. They charged double. Car unsafe with tire pressure light on. Shuttle driver was driving unsafe and was playing with his phone all the way. I’m going to file my claim. And will raise this issues with this companies will third parties as well.

I am giving 1 star since I cannot give zero. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! I can find my situation in other reviews. I booked a reservation with this car rental location 1 month in advance through Expedia. While boarding my plane to Charlotte I received this text message, “Hello I am contacting you from Economy Car Rental. Because of our overbooking issues we had to cancel your reservation with a full refund. Sorry for the inconvenience.” This type of customer service is Unbelievable!

Our reservation with Economy Rental Car was abruptly canceled. This led to a significant inconvenience, as we were left waiting at the airport for over an hour, only to be informed that Economy did not have a minivan available. Economy Rental Car then charged us for the rental they canceled. Now I can't get a hold of a live person to talk with to get refund. The WORST, NEVER use Economy Rental Car!!

I booked a 5/11 car rental with them 3/28. They texted me the morning I landed the following: “Good morning I am contacting you from economy car rental. We dont have any cars available, and had to cancel your reservation. Apologies for any inconvenience.” I had a 2.5 hour drive to a wedding and thought I was stranded. Thankfully, I was able to rent from Sixt, who gave me a brand new BMW at the same price! 1 star for the text, anxiety and poor customer service, 5 stars for teaching me that Sixt is awesome.

Absolute garbage company. Canceled my reservation at 11:30pm with a grammatically challenged text message the night before I was to pick up my car, and no one to take the customer support calls the following morning. Am I even being refunded for this mess? I’ll be reporting to BBB and I urge everyone else to never book with this trash.

My experience was fantastic. The rates were affordable, the vehicle selection was great, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure a seamless rental process. Will definitely be returning!

Booked a rental 3 days prior to arrival for $550. On day of pickup, representative from economy informed me that my car was unavailable but had an SUV available for $740. Told them being that I booked a midsize vehicle that was not available they should accommodate my original price to make up for my inconvenience. The rep Emir told me that he wasn't able resolve the issue and continued to press the vehicle for $740. I informed him that I wanted to speak to his manager and in turn told me his manager was not available. I asked again to call the manager and conveniently told me that his manager is not answering. After addressing to rep that I felt they had no policy for handling overbookings, he immediately threatened me with trespassing and that he will call the police. Told the rep to go ahead which he did. Spoke with Police when they arrived and they even told me that unfortunately when you rent from a small time company such as this one usually you get unreliable results. No good...never ever ever EVER rent from this place. PERIOD.

Economy Car Rental in Charlotte, North Carolina provided excellent service! The process was smooth, the car was clean, and the staff was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!

The new Mega MC is picking up the slack Economy left behind. The staff were helpful and friendly. I was taken care of quickly and provided with sufficient instructions for my return.

I came at 5:15am to drop off my car and get the shuttle at 5:30 to catch my flight. I was assured the office would be open and the shuttle would be running at 5:50am! It is now 6:00am with a line up of cars but the office is closed and locked up. I am about to throw my key over the fence and take an Uber! This is simply unacceptable for a company I deal with to be this late and irresponsible! What now? Now I’m late for my flight dispight my efforts to plan effectively!
