Went here for lunch with my colleagues. The service was fast, with the server bringing us chips and salsa almost the same time we sat down. I ordered the red snapper which came with rice, tortillas and beans. Got the hot sauce on the side. The fish was very flavorful and the sauce added to the taste. Ambiance of the restaurant complemented the food. Will be back here again.
The res snapper grill is something to crave for. Exceptionally cooked to perfection. Comes with rice and tortilla. They wont give you extra rice even if you ask for. Priced decently. Also they charge extra for credit card payments which i have not seen with other restaurants. Being a desi and also a person who is not a fan of Mexican food, i can vouch for the taste of the sauce.
Always good and friendly service, food is prepared well and comes out fast. Everything tastes fresh and its very flavorful. I've been coming here for over 10yrs.Food: 4/5
For what we had was in the decent side. I had the red sauce burrito. Their hot sauce was delicious. Not too much for me but good reddish milky consistency. I must try something else next time . As always, post wherever you end up for lunch.Food: 4/5
Service was good. Food was kind of greasy, meat tasted kind of weird beef and pork chile verde - not sure if it was stale or over marinated. Refried beans and chile relleno were good. We got the combination plates. I got the chicken enchiladas with a beef flauta. My husband got the chile verde enchilada, beef tamale, and chile relleno.
What's special about Tia Juana was that we were welcomed with a smile and both food and service were a killer. Located at the corner of a strip mall, it's a little gem in Sunnyvale and a haven of delicious food and pleasant service. The restaurant was decorated with large mural paintings with bold colors, embedding a strong element of Mexican culture. The vibe was vivid and affable with clean and comfortable setting. We ordered a combo plate of tostada and enchiladas and a burrito. My Tostada was excellent with crispy tasted carnitas, fresh veggies and various cheeses. I was curious about the white soft crumbling cheese spreaded on Tostada and found out later from web search that it's younger Cotija cheese. The Cotija was mild, unlike pungent Feta, although similar in looks when crumbled. And I really liked it. The combination of everything in Tostada that captivated my taste buds and heart. It was the best version I've had. Enchiladas was full of meat of my choice- shredded beef which was tender, juicy and full of flavors. The corn tortilla, soaked in red chilli sauce added extra layer of savory. I felt like eating home-made meal. The combo plate was large at a reasonable price $15, totally blew me away with its quality. They charge for salsa and chips and serve Menudo on weekends. Highly recommend Tia Juana and would love to come back.
You can tell the locals love it here. The bar is full with people having few drinks and chatting with the bartender. Food is decent with fresh homemade chips a s salsa. Portion is big to share. The service is pretty fast. Make sure you are ready to order when they come to your table!
Truly delicious Mexican restaurant. We came here for sinco de mayo. The service was fast and friendly. The food was great with a lot of gluten free options. When they say spicy they mean spicy! Everything we ordered was fantastic, and the prices are good for the valley.
Sometimes we want something different for lunch like Mexican food near work in Sunnyvale, Tia Juan Cantina is our favorite place. It’s a walking distance from my work, in the a small shopping center with many ethnic restaurants for people to choose. The restaurant is small but the tables laid out efficiently, not cramped at all. If you came later than 11:30, chances are you have to wait with more than 2 people. The prices are reasonable and the portions are plentiful. I love the crispy chips and salsa freshly made. You can have a la cart or combo plates for lunch average about $13 and you’ll be full for the rest of the work day. My favorite are the big burritos, chile relleno, taco and enchilada, they’re so tasty and flavorful. We’ve always enjoyed our food here every time. The waitresses are very attentive and efficient, serve very quickly because they do need the throughput since many people are often waiting, no rush by any means. The parking lot is shared but you can always find a space on a busy Friday.
Food and service was amazing. We stopped to eat here before heading to the airport. Quesadillas were delicious that we tried ordering some to go..unfortunately the kitchen was close. The manager went out of his was and got us some from a restaurant next door. I've never experienced that. beans and chorizo for an appetizer Food: 5/5
