Let me start by saying I've been to Tomfooleries a number of times. I like Tomfooleries, this just wasn't the best experience. The food was amazing, as always, but it wasn't the cleanest restaurant experience I've had. The table was a very sticky and looked like it was wiped down with a dirty rag, and there were these little gnats flying around. I killed one - my kids laughed, my wife did not. The service was good and again, fantastic food, they just need to remember not everyone who goes there is going for the bar. Many of us bring our families when we go shopping or walking around The Plaza, and while we understand it is also a bar, it doesn't have to be dirty. I'm sure we'll go back because I want to believe this experience was the exception.
Tomfooleries is an okay place to eat. On Saturdays from 11-3 they have $7 burgers which are an okay deal. The burgers were nothing special. For the Sunrise burger, the toppings were better than the burger itself. Our group of six also got 3 buckets of fries to share, one curly, one waffle and one straight. One order of fries is enough to share between 2 people. The fries were fine. Don't know if I would return because again, the food was fine but nothing special.
Manager was rude, my chicken wasn't cooked all the way. The initial moment I said something about it, he said he couldn't do anything about it. The only reason they get any stars is because the server was super nice and fried pickles tasted amazing! Customer service and food go 50/50, get better management.
Great service and excellent food. Party of six seated right away on 6/11, 2pm.
Went upstairs this time and it was great. Had good catered food, played darts, and had drinks. Had the best margarita I've had in a while, but the fish tacos were a bit lack luster. May change my rating to 5 stars after I forget about the last racist incident since that server is no longer there.
Good selection of beers. The chips and queso was very good. The kobe burger was delicious and cooked perfectly. Waffle fries were crisp and tasty. We had the whole upstairs to ourselves as it was obviously a slow time between lunch and dinner. Plenty of TV's playing sports if you are looking for that.
Not the biggest fan of buffets, but as far as buffet places, it is a pretty good one. Best to get there early.
The food is yummy, this trip, the service was lacking a bit due to the lack of waitstaff paying attention to the orders coming up for service to the tableit was a bit chaotic though due to the holiday crowds. Our waitress, was very sweet and once we got the correct order, the food was very delicious. Husband liked the potato soup, but would had preferred it without bacon.might look at developing a recipe without bacon, but high on flavor.Husband said it was a bit bland for him. The fish and chips was excellent might look at going light on the seasoning on the chipswaffle fries. The fried pickles were an experience also.the ranch was good, and could lighten up on the seasoning there as well. Overall it was a great time.
Overall, awesome for what it is - a casual everyday kinda lunch and dinner place. I've visited Toms many times. It's my go to casual place on the plaza that always has seats for a party of 4 or less. The food has always been good. The service has always been good. I recommend the happy hours and daily specials. I don't prefer the Sunday brunch though, I think if they offered fewer items and did those items really well, the buffet would be more appealing to me.
Fun place. Bacon, chicken and cheese sandwiche was very good
