Ok, first of all...I am a meat and potatoes kinda guy. If you are open minded, you should try this place. I had the Hatch Green Turkey Burger and it was really good. The burger was cooked just right and it was juicy. They have some good mixed drinks and a few beers. Service was a little slow and they were maybe 1/3 occupied.Food: 4/5
We had lunch with our cousin who had been to the Las Vegas restaurant. Lots of gluten free choices for her. She had a turkey burger and cauliflower side. Her friend had a pizza, which happened to be gluten free as well. I had the meatloaf which was great. Wifey had the spaghetti squash spaghetti. Very good. The lemonade I had was great, and the cousin had horcha. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free is well represented.
The atmosphere in this restaurant was lovely and felt clean. Unique and modern decor. The menu was very diverse and had great healthy options with colorful recipes. Service was quick and our waitress was nice. Our food was delicious! We ordered Spaghetti squash w/ bolognese sauce, garden pesto pizza, grass-fed beef cheeseburger, chicken sandwich, and trout with quinoa, street corn and sweet potato hash. Every single dish was great and flavorful. If we didn’t live so far from KC, we would definitely come back! 10/10!
When I first walked in the waitresses we were a lil snobby . Acted like we couldn't get a table because we didn't have a reservation but we asked if we could sit at the bar. So we did. We had an amazing tuna lettuce wrap appetizer!! Melt in your mouth. Then we had a buffalo pizza that had an egg on top. The egg had some of the white not cooked so it was a lil slimy for my taste. My husband said it was good but not amazing. So I probably wouldn't order it. But will be back for the tuna. Looked like they had a decent happy hour menu. I got there at 615 on a Friday and happy hour was over at 6. But definitely make a reservation if you want a table.
The food was delicious, you could absolutely tell that everything was made with purpose from true whole ingredients. My curry was beautifully plated and was something I would definitely order again. We commented that the music wasn’t too loud so you could still have a conversation. The service was average. No mistakes were made with our ordering even though we had 8 separate tickets but often times our water was empty, and it took awhile to get our ticket to pay something I would expect more from for the location and lunchtime. Overall, wonderful!
A nice place to check out for a special occasion with some interesting dishes. The dishes I tried have generally all been delicious, and a well thought out combination of interesting flavors. I do tend towards their artisan crust pizzas, like the spinach and mushroom with a nice garlicky kick, but other drinks and dishes have been great too! I first happened into a True Food Kitchen while in California, and was pleasantly surprised to find one opening in KC! Slightly on the expensive side, but not crazy expensive. Nice atmosphere, friendly service, definitely worth checking out when it is time for something a little different. Vegetarian options: They don't have a huge selection of veg/vegan options, however they do have several and most everything I have tried has been excellent. Dishes seem to be well thought out with interesting flavor combinations. They even have some good appetizer and dessert options, like a root beer float with coconut ice cream and pretty good tasting root beer at that which doesn't just taste like sugar water. Relatively expensive, but worth checking out for a special occasion.
Very impreased. Ordered Teriyaki Quinoa bowl, Gouda Turkey Burger, and Herb Hummus. First, the packaging was green and environmentally friendly. Everything taste so fresh. The bowl was delicious, very flavorful, the Hummus was delicious. This will be my new spot. Try it out, you will not regret it Vegetarian options: Vegetarian friendly
I ordered the "Teriyaki Quinoa Bowl". Was expecting more avocado - rather than just 1 slice. Portion surprisingly small - bowl is thick and makes it look like you're eating more but you're not. Great atmosphere. Feels high-end, but there's plenty of conversation, lighting, and decor is hotel-feel. The bar is well equipped with many choices. The food has many healthy choices and menu guides: Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten-friendly, Proprietary Label, Sustainable, Organic, Biodynamic, and the calories are listed. Food didn't take too long and the temperature was hot! Staff is friendly. Very willing to check for me what kind of oil my food was made with. No prices listed on the menu though. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are listed with a "Veg" next to the food title.
I really loved this place before today… my friend and I came in and asked to sit on the patio with a server because it’s 65 degrees and sunny in December and we have two small dogs with us. We were stared at and told no, we could order take out and eat on the balcony without any service. Five minutes later… a server brings out two ladies and full service, even a bottle of wine! To top it off we ordered soup, and were told they don’t have to go spoons, so I kindly asked to use one and promised to return it since we’re right there on the patio eating our to go food… and they made it very uncomfortable and were still difficult. Why were we denied a server and treated differently than these other people? So hurtful. Don’t think I’ll be back. Enjoy these photos of us eating out of cardboard while our neighbors are served wine…
