I live in DC and I am constantly searching for a good Spanish restaurant - Toro was way out of my expectation! The dishes were of tapas side and were perfect for sharing. My favorite was the maize asado, the most delicious corn I have ever had. Our server was also very patient and passionate about the menu. Overall Toro well deserved a five star!
Our group enjoyed our meal so much. Tapa style dishes are all well designed with savoring flavor and artistic look. The bone marrow goes awesome with the bread. Lambs were tender and juicy, shrimps were tangy and fresh, and the fish tastes so good with aroma from the olive oil. Highly recommend to any group who would like to try various selections of tapas.
We had five dishes and the check came out to about $70. Not bad. The food was delicious. I highly recommend everything I ate. Also there was a little surcharge of 3% for service attendants. It was the best service we got ever! They were absolutely caring. My water was filled all the time. When my fork fell tot he ground, I didn’t have a chance to pick it up. Someone already picked it up and said will bring a new one. Excellent service!
If you're looking for incredible tapas, look no further! Toro offers a great selection of dishes. Each item we ordered was well seasoned, beautiful presented and delicious. We also ordered the paella to and would strongly recommend it- it might have been our favorite dish of the night!
Good food and flavors in a lively atmosphere. Food is reasonably priced for tapas and has some good flavors with a few twists and usual favorites. Service was attentive and friendly. It is a small place so you can be close to other diners and it does get fairly loud so not a good place for a quiet conversation at dinner. Overall we enjoyed our experience and the meal.
Just went today for the first time with my wife and I have to say this spot is amazing. We ordered several courses and everything was to die for. I almost ordered everything on the menu but did not want people to look at us like we were nuts Lol. The level of service from the staff was wonderful, as soon as your glass of water is a quarter of they way down somebody is there to fill you up. If you love Spanish food this is it right here. Parking: Easy to find parking.
Definitely the best tapas I’ve had in Boston. We got grilled corn delicious, especially with the juice and a grilled octopus octopus was tender, wish there were more vs the potatoes but the star by far was the seafood paella. Rice was perfectly cooked, the flavor profile was wonderfully complex while highlighting the freshness of the seafood yet not overwhelmingly briny. The only downside to the dining experience was that it was quite loud and dim inside - admittedly we ate at 8:30 so it was a later crowd but it was a little hard to hear and see each other.
One location not to miss when you visit Boston. Advanced bookings is highly recommended as there is a long wait for available tables. We had the grilled octopus, grilled peppers, oysters, bone marrow and mussels. The IPA on tap is very good and of course try both the seafood and vegetarian paellas.
Cod croquettes were awesome! Pork ribs were tasting good and had good portion, and I enjoyed them even if I'm not a big fan of porks. We also had the grilled corns, which tasted good but the corns weren't all good quality - some were too small and hard to bite. Duck drumsticks are good to try slight similar flavor as pork ribs, and the white anchivies are just fine. Don't recommend uni sandwich if you don't really like uni. Overall I enjoyed the food and the service!
Spent my anniversary here with my boyfriend and it was just as romantic as we wanted it to be Sat at the outdoor fireplace seat and it was super nice and cozy. They even printed happy anniversary on the menu for us! How sweet!
