The Appalachian 'Shine & Spirits tour was outstanding. We drove from Blacksburg and it was very convenient to have a parking and pickup point just off I-81. All three tour stops were uniquely engaging and interesting. The guide was very knowledgeable, attentive, and focused on making the trip enjoyable. There were a generous number of tastings at each stop, and even more variety than we expected. The historical aspect of the tour is fascinating, especially the hand-made still at Twin Creeks and the chance to talk to the owner/builder about his experience. It was also great to be able to relax and sample the drinks and atmosphere without having to worry about driving. The bus is a comfortable ride, even on the curvy rural roads. This tour is a unique experience and well worth the drive from the New River Valley.

Larry and Gilbert did an amazing job for our private tour! Could not have asked for a more seamless tour from beginning to end they were friendly, professional, and fun! It was a great mix of history lessons of the city of Roanoke as well as learning about new restaurants and dishes to try in the area. Everyone on the tour had a great time and I would recommend this tour to anyone- whether you've been in Roanoke your whole life or just visiting, it's a great way to experience the city!

We've taken several tours with this company, and this is perhaps our favorite.
From visiting the Grandin Village Farmers Market at the start of the tour to lunch creatively prepared from the bounty we found there at Rockfish restaurant near the end, this was a wonderfully guided look at the many things - historic and present day - that this Roanoke's coolest neighborhood.

We did the Beer Tour and visited the breweries: Big Lick, Twin Creeks, and Hammer and Forge. All the breweries had a fantastic beer selection with a great deal of variety. I strongly recommend the White Magic Nitro Milk Stout from Twin Creeks, it's delicious and creamy. Our tour guide, Nadean, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. She made the tour a very memorable experience! My boyfriend and I plan to try more of the Roanoke tours in the near future!
