Blue Ridge Balloon Co

This is a great experience. You watch the balloon inflate, get in the basket and smoothly lift off. We took off beside a lake and had stunning views of the Charlottesville landscape including trees, towns, farms, birds, horses, deer, and other wildlife. The pilot was great, explaining how the balloon operates and pointing out locations of local landmarks. We landed softly in a field, celebrated with complimentary sparkling wine, and helped pack up the balloon for the total ballooning experience. Definitely recommend.

I drove 2 hours for a balloon ride with Blue Ridge Balloons (during which I proposed to my girlfriend), and it was so worth the drive. I had spoken with other balloon companies that were closer, but Blue Ridge Balloons made me feel safe and comfortable. It was a beautiful experience that me and my fiance will never forget.

I just did an engagement proposal flight with this company, and they were a great choice. Very professional, communicative, and accommodating. I contacted them and requested a flight date on a Sunday only a week in advance, and she made it happen. Luckily the weather cooperated, and the flight was perfect. A nice launch over a lake and a picturesque landing on a farm.

I cannot recommend Blue Ridge Ballooning enough. I proposed to my fiance in a balloon on a Friday morning and Liana was incredible in facilitating this process. She was tremendous at communicating and answering all my questions while understanding my concerns about weather and helping me plan my special occasion. This helped relieve a ton of stress for me, for which I am very grateful. As for the morning of my flight, it was nothing but first class. It was fun to be able to help inflate the balloon. Liana was our pilot and was extremely informative and told us very interesting information about her career and about ballooning. We were very fortunate to have her as our pilot!! The weather was perfect and luckily she said yes, so the proposal made the flight even better!! Landing was fun, as was helping pack up the balloon. She took us up to about 2500 feet above sea level, and then slid over brush in a field, which was a very cool experience. Hearing how the balloon operated, wind effects, turning ability and the overall science of ballooning made this field special. Like I said, I cannot recommend Blue Ridge Ballooning enough. This was a once in a lifetime experience and I am very happy that I made the decision to go with BRB!!
