The park has nice sites. Great trails for hiking and biking. The bath houses are awful. I can't believe no one mentioned the old, dirty, dingy, unventilated, unsanitary bath houses. C'mon Delaware get the bath houses updated at Trap Pond. As per staff....so old, no way to really clean them, no way to get rid of the smell...as hard as they try. Nice staff. Good camp store. Pretty, new Nature Center and good playgrounds for the kids. Great place to kayak. Waiting on new bathrooms...clean, well lit with natural lighting and bulbs, great ventilation, heat and a/c (a must for DE), plenty of hooks in shower stalls and a bench in each shower stall. Wider shelves above the sinks. New! Clean! Trap Pond is a great campground minus the awful bath houses.

This park is more beautiful than I expected. It costs $4 for State Residence, and $8 for non-State Residence... Per car to get into the park. When I arrived, paying the entrance fee is based on an honor system. The fee envelopes are located at the entrance, and a tall metal pole holds the filled entrance fee envelopes. The slot for the filled entrance fee envelopes is large enough for an envelope with coins to slip through. This park has lots of trails, and the ones located along the pond have many access points to the pond with a view of the pond. There are boat ramps and docks should you want to boat or fish. By the Nature Center, where the restrooms are, along the water, there is a playground, a huge area with picnic tables and grills, and a pavilion for parties. This area is so clean, and it is situated nicely by the water, providing an amazing view of the pond. It's a very kid friendly park, and it is perfect for a romantic picnic by the water, or take a stroll on the trails and take some pictures. The picnic, playground and nature center area don't allow pets, and no smoking either. The rest of the park, pets allowed. The American Holly trail is a graveled trail. The island trail is dirt. You can easily spend the whole day here. I hiked 1.7 miles on the American Holly Trail, the Island Trail, and the surrounding area. This should give you an idea how large this park it.

Great park to spend the day or camp.
Nice large picnic area's with canoe, kayak, and padle boat rentals as well as large screened in buildings to have party's and stuff. Really nice paths for walking and bike riding. They have both primitive camp sites as well as sites with water and electric hook ups. Great place over all.
