Ended up getting the sushi sampler and then also tried their specialty sea urchin and Hawaiian Ono. Over all the sushi was decent, but nothing spectacular. I have definitely had better, but I have also had worse. The atmosphere was pleasant, and our server was friendly and prompt. However the kitchen was slow and it took longer than it should have to get our sushi out and to our table. With everything considered, the restaurant itself was a bit overpriced. The good news is, I had a nice Lemon Drop cocktail from the bar. I will also say that, I did really enjoy the Miso soup.
Great sushi place in New Orleans! Best sushi I’ve had on my visits to Nola. Ika fries are a must try. The big easy roll was my favorite. My friend really liked a roll that has a dorito chip crust. The atmosphere is very cool and total date night vibes. The host Patrick was very professional and nice.
This was one of the best Sushi Restaurants we have visited and can be easily missed as slightly off the beaten track in the more commercial district. Great food and great service. The Bento boxes were great value for lunch. Vegetarian options: Plenty of choice Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly.
Love to do the Omakase here. The chefs create unique bites and really feel you out to see your likes and dislikes. Overall, fresh fish and delicious flavors.
Very nice sushi place! All the rolls were very tasty and the qualitybwas good . nice service as well. Would recommend if you get tieed of Nola typical food.
Miso soup and seaweed salad were both excellent, would definitely order both again. Seaweed salad has a glass noodles texture and is a little sweet. Black and gold roll got great reviews and I wasn't disappointed. Not normally a baked roll kinda guy, but I'm glad I made an exception. NO style flavor profile, with a little kick. Sweet to balance and a large portion. Would order again. Tuan roll was good but paled in comparison to the black and gold roll. The roll pieces are very large, and they were tasty, but I would probably try another fresh roll before coming back to this one. Father Calais was excellent. Deep fried roll with Philly cheese is the highlight with some chili sauce as kick. Good choice for the heavy roll, would order again. Big tuna. Big to the point of being hard to eat. Great flavor but a little unwieldy. Would pick a different fresh roll next time. Munchy roll: basically a philly roll with Doritos crumbs sprinkled on the outside. I enjoyed it as a philly roll but he Doritos didn't really add anything aside from novelty. Would just order the philly roll next time and save $2. Maybe have them add some cucumber for crunch. Cajun roll wasn't my favorite, but GF liked the crunchy gator. I wouldn't order that again either. The lava roll is close to the black and gold minus crunchies and a little smaller portion. Not a bad choice, would order again. Green monster was ordered and got good marks from the gf, I'm allergic so I'll have to take her word for it. Fried rice is very pepper heavy. Ordered as a filler without meat. It did have lots of fresh veggies, but the pepper overpowered anything else that might have been in it. Might be better with a protein, but I would just get something else at that point. Atmosphere is quieter casual, the room has an industrial modern look, they use real candles, large parties could dine here, the service was good. The prices are reasonable for sushi and they have a happy hour that seems like a good deal too. We will be back.
Booked a reservation for my daughter’s 18th birthday. Food was good. We had a server being trained and he was working really hard. Everyone was pleased with their food. My sushi was not my favorite but their fried rice is so good!! It’s different and unique. If you are looking for the usual super greasy fried rice you get at any other restaurant, you may be disappointed. The Brussels sprouts dish was seriously amazing. They treated my daughter to a birthday treat. She was thrilled. Only negative, like a serious thumbs down: they were blasting country music. Lol. It was the weekend of Halloween, we were in the beautiful city of New Orleans eating some great sushi and country music was blaring. Almost took a star off for that.
This is a great sushi place not only for the quality and deliciousness of the sushi but also the atmosphere. It's a date night kind of place and a lot of sushi restaurants aren't really much for environs. Bf and I went for a night out and it was great. Cocktails strong, food delicious and loved the paperless ordering system. It's not my favorite sushi in the area, but definitely top three.
I hate to give this place 4 stars. Honestly think it deserves 5 stars based on food and atmosphere, but I feel obligated to give my experience. The service was not great... The waitress was very kind and helpful, but completely forgot our appetizer. Then later we ordered drinks and it took 15 minutes for them to come out. We were done with our meal by that point. 3/5 for service. The food was great though. Sashimi dinner was very fresh and the sushi rolls were very good. Thai pasta was delicious, and it was a very large portion be warned in case you also order sushi. Brussels were the only thing that were so so. Not bad, but not great. Overall definitely a 5/5. Atmosphere is very cool. Tables are spaced well, good music that is not too loud, and a cool bar. 5/5.
The food was ok...sadly the pictures on the online menu are deceiving since the food that comes put looks like a very small or incomplete version of the pictures. Service was ok but our order was lost and didnt get main the main entree till an hour later after several reminders to the waitress. We did get our entrees paid for by the restaurant after they realized that our order was lost somewhere which was nice. Maybe it was just an off day but dont expect the food that comes out to look like what's in the pictures, as in below, left is what came out, right picture is from the menu.
