They lost an old rent check had us pay to stop it and reissue, still gave us a fraudulent eviction notice. Refused to handle bugs ants as "that is tenant responsibility" even after the bathroom floor was covered with ants. With only one staff member on maintenance, it took them 2 months to fix a door and fixture. Harassment, after we paid our rent and they lost it, again. Repeated "3-day pay or vacate eviction notices" that are fraudulent, not signed by a judge. They put staff here that don't know the law, or seems, cause when they moved in, they illegally and fraudulently cut off our contract and put everyone on month to month. It is illegal to cancel a valid contract. How is this for honest.
Update: you want see Luxury Apartments, check out the video. Don’t be surprised. I literally seen rats in every corner eating trash. I promise to take video and post it. You know what is the funny part, the company invited its staff to make 5 stars reviews. YOU MUST READ THIS BEFORE AT LEAST THINK TO MOVE IN. 1- Unprofessional and lousy management, they not even can take any decision until to contact the owner and get approved 2- Keep in mind you will be charged extra fees of at least $375 over your monthly rent. 3- check your contract carefully, lots of hiding MONTHLY fees, such as valet trash $25, CAM charges $45 est., Cable fees $60, Real Estate tax $16, MANDATORY rental dasher and dryer $60, parking fees $25, insurance waiver $13, Utility bill W/S&T about $130 and they want to add more additional fees. BTW, Sandpiper Apartments across the Street charge only $45 for W/S&T -go check. I've been living in Turnberry for about 5 years. It was amazing , clean, quiet, weekly service grass cutting and daily cleaning courtyard till the new owner took over and everything been worse and worse. The new owner is HUNGRY for money, they remodeled most of the units and they are trying to get money back from the residents by charging mandatory fees and taking advantage of everything. STAY AWAY. I wish I can move out ASAP.
I will say this is by far the worst management company I have ever dealt with. They recently took over ownership mid lease and our complex became a construction zone. They spent over a month adding hook ups for a washer and dryer where I couldn’t access my closet or much of my room. Workers let themselves in without knocking. They turned off my power ruining my food. they came in at least monthly for other random projects which were not permitted in my lease agreement. I have extreme anxiety and asked for a reasonable accommodation under ADA to wait a few months for further repairs until I moved out. This request went ignored. Communication was awful. Walls were super thin. Fees kept growing. Never anything to make my experience better, just to make it look pretty to charge more money. Please please please stay clear of this place.
Would give ZERO stars if at all possible. Disappointed with new ownership and management. I lived here for over a decade and loved it until new ownership and management took over at the end of 2021 / beginning of 2022. Now I've barely been able to get someone to answer the phone when I call the office. Rent went up 30%+ overnight with less than a month's notice with the additional fees for unnecessary items like forced valet trash and rental of washer/dryer, CAM fees, tripled water/sewer bill received from management rather than the utility provider, etc. Maintenance is VERY slow 2 weeks to simply fix a leaking faucet. Construction is performed without notice, prompting constant paranoia about whether your car might be in danger of damage or towing if you're out of town for a day, and the contractors are rude enough to make tons of noise early in the morning when most are trying to sleep. This is just the start of my opinions; I could easily go on. I feel treated as a dollar sign, not a person here. I do not recommend this place in the slightest degree. 13 years here and this will have to be my last. Stay away unless you want to be nickel-and-dimed and treated as a prisoner in your own home. You're welcome!
I have lived at Turnberry for a year now, and my experience here has been nothing but wonderful. The great experience started when I applied over a year ago, and lasts throughout my stay. The ladies at the front office are top notch. They truly recruited me and good people in general to call Turnberry home. I greatly appreciate the personal touch by the front office, unlike many other apartments, screening tenants strictly via their computer systems. The apartments here are a little pricey, but totally worth it, considering the great maintenance, safe neighborhood, good management team, recently upgraded roof and facelift, and great location next to 2 big parks. I truly love it here.
Management asked us to give an honest review, so here it is: We’ve lived here for 2 years and living here was great until the new management took over. It’s a problem for 1. The management company and 2. Property management including the front office. Management company: Ridiculous raises rent prices. But on top of that - hidden fees! Look for those: - open ended CAM common area management fees, meaning they can charge whatever the heck they want - $60/month for their washer/dryer when we already have our own. We’ve lived here for 2 years and perfectly happy with our washer and dryer, but now we have to sell it. It’s costing us much more to be required to rent the washer and dryer. - “valet” trash service that does not come hardly at all, so we have a loaded trash can that just sits on our porch. There’s literally a dumpster 20 steps away from us that we have chosen to use instead but we still have to pay for “valet” trash. - this California-based management company does not care about the standards of other Utah apartments. We’ve provided feedback through emails, phone calls, petitions and reviews, but it appears that they really don’t care. - there are more stories from others that we’ve heard about, so beware. So that’s the management company. Property management: I used to feel bad for them because they didn’t set the fees and raise rent, but they have to deal with the complaints. I take it back though. BAD COMMUNICATION: - maintenance request, you have to put in the request which is ignored, email them which is ignored, call them which is ignored and then talk to them in person. Then, you might get them to fix it. The old office would have it fixed immediately OR respond to tell you when they will be there if it’ll take a few days. The new office is radio silent. - little to no communication when they will come into you apartment for inspections. If they tell you, it’ll be the day before at most. Unfortunately the contract allows them to do so, but very unprofessional in my opinion. - SHADY EXPERIENCE: We filled out the renewal agreement for a 10-month contract at the beginning of the month. We had to follow up several times to see if they got it. A few days beforehand, they finally responded and sent us a 11-month contract WITHOUT mentioning the change of length. Felt like they didn’t want us to notice it. When we asked about it, they said that they didn’t have any 10-month contracts left. Although, they would’ve had the availability if they had looked at our renewal agreement when we sent it, so it was their fault, but they still wouldn’t give us a 10-month contract. We would’ve been out of an apartment if we hadn’t followed up repeatedly. - another bad communication: these forced washers and dryers that we have to accept were supposed to arrive on Thursday. But they didn’t. And they had no mention of it! Since we’ve sold our washer and dryer, we just have to wait for an indefinite amount of time, laundry piling up, for them to deliver them. I get that deliveries get delayed, BUT TELL US. Please stop communicating at the bare minimum level. - many more stories from others, so beware. Also, because of these horrible experiences, it broke up a thriving community. This used to be a pretty popular place to live within our young adult community. But now, more than half of us have left. And more of us are planning to leave. All because of management. Pretty bad move on Turnberry’s part. Worst experience with any apartment complex ever. We are impeccable renters, always with on-time payments, follow the community guidelines, lived in many apartment complexes in Utah, etc. but this place is not worth our time.
Turnberry Apartment management is the best!! Ashlee the manager will take her time to help you with any situation you may have. Tony will assist you with anything regarding rent and it so helpful. Ellie is an amazing leasing agent and will help you find your next perfect home! Layne is the best. He will assist you with any maintenance issues as quick as possible. I love Turnberry!! Highly recommend.
I really loved living in Turnberry, very well located, I liked the apartments and the renovations are going very well, the reason why I am leaving is because I had certain problems with the current administration, I was an impeccable customer regarding payments, but I am very picky about services. The manager Karley broke certain commitments that we had reached, the maintenance supervisor is a very bad character, he is always in a bad mood, and the way he responds to complaints is rude in my opinion. There has been some progress with the new administration but I think the old administration was more attentive to the general cleanliness of the common areas and the landscaping that was one of the attractions of Turnberry.
A text message came through today asking for an honest review. Here goes… I have been here for almost two years. I decided to up my lease when the new mgmt took over. BIGGEST mistake of my life. Instead of caring for their current tenants they are worried about updating the property and calling the apartments luxury. There is NO luxury about this place. The updates may look nice but that is the trend and your typical new build offerings. May look nice but not the best quality. The staff well they aren’t helpful. Their response is you’ll have to talk to the property manager. Which, then I don’t talk to because She is rude and has not displayed good customer service. Maybe the first week they took over but not since then. If, I get a response to this it will be the same generic ones that have come through lately, and tell me to reach out to Ashlee. Guess what she’s the property manager with horrible customer service and treats tenants poorly. They have forced tenants to use valet trash. Just because many places in SL do this does not mean people want it. Fine, but does it really still cost each resident the same amount for all the large dumpsters with the twice weekly pickup to remove waste from the compactor? I’m sure next month’s utility bill will show an increase. They didn’t tell us until they removed the dumpsters that valet is 5 days a week and then when they did, they didn’t tell us what days. It was communicated after they removed the dumpsters that it is 5 days a week, but what 5 days? Miscommunication is what we were told. However, from the little that was said by the office staff that did not appear to be the case someone messed up and wasn’t there to fix it or communicate with tenants. Not sure why the staff that were on when the dumpsters didn’t alert us. Does the property manager not let the staff communicate quickly? Despite being on the corner of 45th and 13th this place is noisier than it use to be. Yes people may qualify but that doesn’t mean they are a good fit. Cars that drive through the parking lot are loud and music blaring through closed windows. People are fixing cars in the parking lots. Full on having vehicles towed and then they work on other people’s cars in the parking lot. They leave parts and oil leaks. The grounds are horrible. Dog poop and trash everywhere. This was rarely a problem before. The dog station near the NW part of the property is always out of bags and the trash bin is over flowing. Residents should not have to report that. It should be checked on, we pay an exorbitant community area maintenance fee that it should be checked daily! I’m finding nails near my place from the roof work they did in June. It’s an apartment so you can expect people moving in and out a lot. Guess what, they have more apartments open than the previous managers did. Many tenants that have lived here for a while have left because of all the reasons that have been listed by other recent reviews. Before making changes just so you can add luxury to the title check to see if that is what your tenants want and make sure the property manager has the customer service for luxury. Make your tenants the priority not upgrading the property. Most likely you wouldn’t have so many people complaining and so many moving out. Very disappointed in this place and the new management. I use to recommend this place to people but haven’t since about March 2022. I’m old enough that I’ve lived in many apartments and have never been more frustrated and treated like a nobody before this new management.
The new management has raised rent and added a lot of hidden fees, without doing any structural improvements to the apartment complex itself. The walls and ceilings are very thin so it makes it difficult to get a good night's rest. I could literally hear the neighbors phone on the floor above me vibrate.. yeah that bad. Upon moving out the woman in the office said we would get our refund check back if after they inspected there was and I quote "nothing more they could charge us for", and our refund check came 3 months later after we moved out. They also made it out to both my roommate and I, which is a logistical nightmare as two people have to be physically present to cash any check. That and they make the contract almost impossible to end early after residents are unsatisfied there's really no way to get out unless you finish your term. 10 out of 10 would steer clear if you have ANY other option. At least until the management improves how they treat tenants or they get bought out.
