Mostly fine when things work. Day to day, this place is OK. I had a storage unit here. Access hours are labeled as 5am to 10pm. I went at 8pm, and the system won’t let me in due to it being “after hours”. So, I went at 5:10am and it’s STILL “after hours.” Makes zero sense. Plan for your storage to be available during “office hours” only, which is what the site manager told me. He completely disregarded my point about access hours, as if they weren’t posted on the sign. Also, please buy a lock outside of U-Haul. The locks they have for purchase are of horrible quality; see my photo. If you do end up buying one, add some oil to the lock because I’m pretty sure there’s metal to metal contact inside somewhere, and results in stuck locks, which U-Haul will not help you with. They will tell you to get a locksmith, which is BS, but that’s U-Haul for you. They don’t have competition, so as long as their trucks run, and storage lockers have space, they will make money and never go above the bare minimum.
After explaining that I had issues with my move and needed to extend my truck rental as well as drop the equipment off to a different location, I received nasty and aggressive calls from this office. The employees were aggressive, rude and hung up on me during the conversations. I'm pregnant and have a one year old child which is not an excuse for having personal experiences why I had to breach the original contract. But when empathy is at play, I pleeded with them honestly, stating that I'm a single mother and had a issues with my move. I didn't intend on needing to change my reservation but called hours in advance to let the team know of my troubles and offered the difference in cost up front. I received no decency and still have not received a final bill to rectify the mishap. I apologized about what was out of my control. U-Hual being a "family" brand type of company should have more empathy for situations where not everything goes as planned. I continued to assure the location that I would pay for the inconveniences and all they did was threaten me about breaking a legal contract and that I'd be paying $800 in the end. Again, as I had not planned on changing my reservation, things happen unfortunately and due to my personal situation, I had no other choice but to hold onto the truck for an additional day and return it at a location that I could safely drive to. This location, including the manager was so impatient and callous. I would never recommend this service provider again.
I picked up the van with a little dirt on the driver side floor and rear cargo hold. From my experience with renting we are told to return the vehicle in which it was received which i did. I didnt think much of that little amount of dirt and kept it moving. Used the van to pick up a sofa by myself, 1.5 hours I had vehicle for. After returning the van I was charged $90 for the dirt that was already there. I was not told to report pick up condition of the van upon receiving the keys, I trusted the Corporation to already know prior condition before handing the keys out to a customer. I disputed the charge and was told to provide before pictures for a refund. How is the customer supposed to know the cleanliness/ condition standards the company has that needs to be documented prior to taking the keys? I also wasn't told to document prior condition. So should we also be taking pictures of the motor too? Every single defect in the paint? Wear and tear? Are we going to have to document the condition from head to toe before accepting the vehicle to avoid a fee? How about you require your employees to do a quick vehicle walk around with the customer then sign off on it. This way both parties acknowledge the condition instead of leaving it in the customers hands hoping they dont know your company policies. Corporations getting scummy these days taking advantage of customers. If you're that desperate to make extra money than at least be honest about it. SCUM
If I could give them a - 0 stars I would. Uhaul is a THIEF! BIG THIEF. be VERY careful renting from them! Their Customer service is TRASH as well. RENT FROM HERTZ, Get a PENSKE. These people are GREEDY and LAZY!! They are not for consumers but for CORPORATE!! DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!! I repeat, DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. Sleazy Sleazy Sleazy!!!
I've had 5 major reconstructive-surgeries between my two knees. I'm not capable of running and is a constant alert walking to keep from falling. I have to after heavy use or they simply are too weak to continue. Additionally, the pain level skyrockets. I am fully and legally disabled. After a few days of bringing stuff into the storage unit, I took a mommbt to sit on my suitcase and crack open the peanutbutter I brought with me. A well deserved break as I noticed that my knees were both at a high pain level. Just a minute later the manager passes and seea me there. In a split secondbwithout giving me any opportunity to explain, or even ask if I'm ok, he made judgement that I was living in the unit."Youre sitting there and have peanut butter in you hand" he said as justification to terminate the contract. He gave me a notice and said I had 72 hours to remove my stuff but if I came down without all of it he wasn't letting me back in as he removed me from being able to use the access card. This Javier guy is the manager and thinks "he" is giving "up to" 72 hours to let me have my stuff. The real steal is they are saying I breached and am not getting refund. So, this guy is a narcissist, who UHaul will not do anything about, has the power of God to judge you as he seems fit and keep the rent after 3 days only in unit. Disgusting. The picture is where it states In the contract" that Uhaul will return the rent if 6the terms listed at prorated rate upon termination. Keep it, you obviously need it for the psychiatrist and lawyer. As a veteran my lawyer will be free. Be sure you bring all the "PROOF" because the judgement in court isn't Javier's.
An absolutely horrible experience -- I showed up at 4:15 PM to pick up a truck a 4:45 PM reservation. Our truck should have been been there, but wasn't -- the salesperson said that there was no alternative. Our truck eventually arrives 15 minutes before closing. The salesperson, who was extremely rude and not sympathetic at all, refused to give me the truck because it would be mean that he'd have to stay a few minutes after the 5:00 PM closing. We have to move at 9:00 AM tomorrow and now don't have our moving truck. Avoid this UHaul location at all costs!
Checking in and out is surprisingly fast. Very efficient process.
The rental crew are top notch. Nice crew, very competent. Overall I'm very pleased with this facility. The people are nice it's very convenient and they've been able to accommodate my needs easily.
Homeless Military Veteran. I sought to open an account at this location before Thanksgiving day the same week on that Wednesday. The customer service lady approved all my credentials. The owner glanced at the computer seen my addresses then immediately DENIED the account. I experienced Prejudiced and Biased treatment. All due TO MY ADDRESSES GIVEN TO ME TO RECEIVE MY MAIL AS A HOMELESS PERSON TEMPORARILY LIVING IN A HOMELESS SHELTER. I am housed now. Thankfully! I had to open an new account with CubeSmart on Callowhill Rd for twice the unit size an twice the amount i would! It ain've paid at this UHAUL location. Not EVER AGAIN!!! I was embarrassed to be treated in such a manner all due to something out of my control. For that reason my family and friends won't ever be using UHAUL. Effective immediately. And i am not done yet. They will be hearing about this soon...
Called ahead, asked the clerk about rentals - got disconnected and called back and was given a reservation on a 5x5 unit, arrived by Uber only to be be yelled at about how the storage facility only had 10x5s. After voicing my initial complaint was answered with a "no problem". Problem - I wasted money on ride share and time taken away from other tasks. This man needs customer service rehab.
