U-Haul of Mountain View

I returned the trailer I rented at the u-haul Mountain View. I waited more than 10 minutes, and no staff showed up. I found a staff outside filling propane tanks, he did not have time to help me, and gently asked me to unhook the trailer myself. I do not recommend this store.

I rented moving trucks twice in the last two weeks. I reserved it online and just went there to pick it up. The pick up was quick and easy, the employees at the counter were friendly and they didn't try to sell me their insurance. Drop off was amazingly fast, the guy there was super friendly, did a quick check and we were really to go. I didn't experience anything mentioned in the 1 star reviews.

Customer Service was very BAD. The female staff checked us out when we returned the truck, it should be a check-in NOT check-out . Lucky we caught the mistake, she did not know how to fix it so we ended up waiting for 1+ hour for her supervisor to fix it. Never again at this location. They used to have experienced staff there.

When we returned the truck, the U-Haul employee tried to charge us 13 dollars for gas, even though we returned it with at least as much gas as when we started. We only drove the vehicle for 11 miles and added 6 dollars of gas, which should have been more than we used. Beware of sketchy practices by the U-Haul employees at this location, and *always* make sure to take a photo of the gas indicator before starting as solid proof, because they *will* try to scam you. The gas level indicator on the U-Haul website when you check out the vehicle is worthless, because employees will try to round down.

We came here twice a week apart. The service was professional and courteous. The prices were good and upgrading to a bigger truck the second trip wasn't too much more.

Perfect. I needed a pick-up to retrieve my motorcycle that suffered a failed wheel bearing leaving me stranded in Morgan Hill California. An Uber ride later to U-Haul Mt. View and all my problems were solved!

After reading a bunch of 1-star reviews I felt compelled to put our own 2¢ in here with a 5-star review. We needed a moving van for a few hours to move a small amount of furniture from my mother-in-law's house to her assisted living place. We made the reservation online and they had it ready when we got there on a Saturday morning. The van was perfect, in great shape, and all the person at the counter was fast and friendly. Returning the van was a smooth process, the guy at the return area was quick and helpful. We pointed out the tires looking pretty low and they apologized and said they'd definitely take care of that for the next customer. Overall this was a great experience, and I wouldn't have a hesitation going back here in the future if we need a moving van/truck.

Amazing service, the very best U-Haul location I’ve ever been to. Came here to buy boxes and supplies for my move, after noticing my selections, they recommended more cost efficient options for almost same thing. One of them staff there even helped me to load the bundle boxes into my car. I came here today again for additional boxes, the sweet lady there recognized me and warmly welcomed me back. They are always so helpful and friendly, the owner here must be a such kind person to recruit this amazing team.

Came here to refill the propane tank. Service was pretty quick. We got done in about 5 minutes.

This branch of U-Haul is awful. Totally unfriendly staff all of whom have zero interest in any amount of customer service. The woman behind the counter was beyond useless, and two other employees just kind of stood around doing nothing. The dude who actually checked our truck in looked like he just got hired from some day labor center in Mountain View. He did have the same low level of customer service standards though so at least they are consistent. Compared to the city where we picked up the truck, which was a dream, the Mountain View locations is just bad. U-Haul locations are franchises. So the owner of the Mountain View location must just be a dirt bag.
